Are the values of STAR WARS props/helmets dropping?

I am seeing this hit across pretty much every hobby / collectibles. It is the economy that is hitting everyone hard. I think at this point, you can expect to see spending take a huge dip. The opening markets today show we are entering a hard recession. On top of high inflation and the world situation pointing to multiple possible wars, I think the markets are going to get very cautious which will further hurt the economy and spending.

You’ll never catch me drilling holes in vintage… no way no how

My dad started out collecting vintage guns back around 1990. A few years later he decided to sell most of them and just collect US Civil War stuff. He had a Mauser C96 and asked if I wanted it. I couldn't possibly drill holes in a perfectly usable historic gun like that so I passed. Parts kits or ones that don't work are a different story though.

Scott and I talk about this all the time. I have a couple c96’s. If I were to have Scott convert one I wouldn’t be able to display it in my case. Here in mass it needs to be legally locked up in a safe

And as of right now they just passed a new law.. it’s still very grey but it looks like if a semi auto leaves the state it’s not allowed to come back in.. so I’d have a even bigger problem

Scott was the one who convinced me, if you want to display it, just buy a blaster factory

I totally understand what you mean with your Mauser.. we collect wwii fire arms, I wouldn’t modify any of them

That’s what replicas are for ;)

I would be too nervous to spend all that money to modify certain vintage parts.

This is why my ANH Graflex will have only one hole for the bottom rivet until my dying day. Everyone believed that's how it was then, and I had a hard time doing that, and it's inaccurate now, but to find out there are six holes in these things in total?! Nope!

Here's your proof Halliwax . . . G R A F L E X, Inc. with patent # and a 1 hole rivet added!

;)

It will remain so too on mine ... though it was a Folmer with patent # before I even knew about those subtle details.

I also think it's what you're buying and a little bit of when you're buying or selling.

Autographs and photo ops are all the craze right now. I collect these and I'm seeing prices go through the roof. Mark Hamill signs for around 5 to 600 and that doesn't even have his character name, personalization nor quote. By the way-he sells out in minutes. Harrison Ford-1300, again sells out same day within hours of presales.
Photo ops- 300 for Billy D,- Hayden is 200 this month at Tampa Comic Con--Hayden sold out 2 times already.

Haslab go fund me's reach their goals--500, 600, no problem and they have to meet the order numbers of 1000s or no go.
Sideshow hot toys, sell out some pre orders on certain characters. Those are 100s as well.

Food and fuel as well as rent are out of control as well. Some are forced to choose between living and playing. Election years always bring downturn to spending. I notice it every 4 years as a person that runs a company- the phone calls simply slow down.

Maybe it's a buyers market right now. A couple of years from now, hopefully we are saying- " I wish I bought it in 24"

I haven't kept up, as in reading the threads on Han blasters for years, but is there a full size C96 replica available now? Last I looked the only option was still Denix, which everyone said is undersized.

His scribble looking C with authentication from the top 3 is going for lots. If you can prove it, the inscription is way more
It's 100% proveable. What's lots? I've never seen an auction with his sig. It's personalized to me and my wife so I'm sure that drops value somewhat. I know he doesn't sign "May the Force Be With You" a ton so that ups the value.

edit: Ok, I did some searching and yeah not crazy money but pretty good. It's on a fan made poster so the content isn't the greatest. oh well lol

Denix guns are readily available and they're oversized rather than under, along with a bunch of other inaccuracies. Blaster Factory/fieldmarshall had a run of steel C96's due in thanks to some other members here that were fairly accurate but production of them has since ceased (as far as I know) because the quality of them dipped and the interest fell out. I believe he still offers aluminium Mausers but I don't know what the quality for those are like.

Are the steel Mausers not available through the Blasterfactory website?

They are still available.

If you're really fastidious about details, especially about a batch of the steel mausers he made, the issues were brought up in this thread here. I don't know if it's been resolved but if they're still being sold with these issues, 'buyer beware' if you're the sort.
