So made my 1st COG armor and a Lancer from Gears of War. I was going to my 1st Comic Con and since I'm wheelchair bound I realized it would be quite difficult holding the lancer and pushing my self around. So I decided to try to make the One Shot and mount it to my chair. I made a complete design for my chair and created an alternate division. The Handi-Capable Div. I found a roll of 46"x93" foam floor matting at Big Lots for $18. I got a piece of electrical conduit for about $10 at Home Depot and a $5 piece of 1" PVC pipe. I found 2 $5 toy guns at a Dollar General that I took the electronics out of. I found some pulleys and a spring at Crowder's, a great local family owned hardware store.
I began the cog by putting together 2 pieces of PVC with a "T" joint. I would later use this for wiring. Next I wrapped foam floor matting around one end to form the barrel. I glued it in place with hot glue. Next I made a box for the rear body of the one shot from foam board. Once I fitted it over the PVC I hot glued it and covered it with the eva foam.

I used a soldering iron to burn detail into other pieces.
Next I made the magazine well. I used strips of foam board to make a frame.
Then I covered it with eva. Once that was finished I cut a door in it for electronics and one in the bottom of the the other box for a battery pack. Then I started the scope (Bare with me this is amy 1st time and I did not plan this out). I made a box for the scope from foam board and a toilet paper roll. I cut some plastic circles from gift boxes. I drew sights on them with a sharpie. t was all put together with hot glue and covered with thin foam.
Now I began making the charging handle. I drew it out on a piece of foam board. I cut it out and traced out 3 more. Once they were cut out I peeled the backing paper off and glued them together using wood glue. Once dried I coated them with wood glue..about 4 coats. I put a small piece of PVC through one end ( about 3") and one about 5" at the other. This would connect it to the body and be a hand grip at the other end. Then I covered it with foam and carved it. I re-worked the electronics from the Dollar General guns and used the to allow the gun to fire and flash. I put a speaker on the back box. One of those that work by vibrations. I wired it into the circuit board to get sound. After a coat of paint and some more detailing it was of to my 1st Comic Con. It was at the Tampa Bay Comic Con. It was my 1st time competing. I got 2nd place! Oh yeah some money too. I'm a happy camper and I'm hooked for life!
