Apocalypse now surfboard

Nope, the scene where they show him chasing them down looking for his surfboard is only in REDUX. They showed him grab it in the original theatrical release...

Just pulled out the original DVD and they do not show anything surfboard related after the "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" speech, the next scene is the boat going up river. So unless the original version DVD release was different than the theatrical release, it's wan't there.

How about the T-shirt Kilgore is wearing? That's a Surfboard Maker, I forget the name, but that would be a cool thing to have.

First DVD was not the theatrical release...I can't say for other releases what was edited or what not.

I am actually planning on finishing up a full size Kilgore board...got the graphics made, just need to find an appropriate donor board for less than $500.

The DVD that's in the complete dossier edition is the theatrical release (along with the redux version). Pretty sure the stealing scene's not there.

Anyhoo, awesome find. A classic scene from one of my all time favorite films. If I surfed, I'd want this for certain. As it is, I have to settle for a shaved head and a penchant for TS Eliot poems.

The surf board maker is "Yater" as it says under the pic.

I love Robert Duvall’s shirt in that movie, been trying to find one of these for years as I know it was a production item, but good luck in finding one. You’d think they could sell them as a crossover item easily.

I used to shoot pool in a bar in Santa Barbara that had this surfboard mounted on the wall under a blown up still of the frame where Willard steals the surfboard off of Kilgore's chopper.

Couldn't tell you for sure if it was the real deal or not, but it was a great piece to see in person.

And yeah, that scene only appears in the Redux version of the film, the original theatrical release shows no such scenes.
