In kit form you should pay about $1,000 approx.

I paid $2,000 for an assembled styrene TE suit. It should be far off that I would think.

I also just bought the AP kit, and it was $950.00 directly from the maker. I really wanted the TE, but it seems those are on hold at the moment, and I couldn't wait to spend my tax return.:)

From everything I have read on both makers, you can't go wrong with either set, but the general thought is the AP is ABS, and is much more durable if you intend to wear it a lot.

Can't wait to get started on mine.

From all I have seen the quality is far better than the pieces Matt is selling. With him you really never know what you are going to get. with AP it is pretty consistent. Good call on your part. :thumbsup

I have an excellent TE suit I can't seem to sell here for a discount, to save my life. Strange.

The one thing I find that keeps me from getting a TE suit is the strips on the legs. When he assembles them they look to be almost an inch wide. The ones in the standee look to be about 3/4". Even if those are the wrong dimensions, to me at least, they look too wide. I know it's a minor detail but it bugs me almost as much as the FX armor problems.

But I am surprised moffeaton that your armor is not selling. Other than the strips, it looks great.

Just wondering where you were at with your progress? I'm through most of the major trimming, and am down to the fine detail trimming.

I take it then that the accepted view is that the AP armor is much more accurate than FX armor.

I have an MR CE Lid and I was thinking about getting a set of the FX armor (no helmet) and using my MR to make a complete armor set. I think I could get that set for around $350. But if the AP set is significantly more accurate, I may save up my money for that.

Comments? Advice?

The AP certainly is much more accurate. It is in fact an "idealized" version of the ANH suits, meaning that you won't find the bumps and faults of the originals, but it still does have the asymmetrical look of the originals.

Cheers!
