Is anyone here willing to trim and assemble my st armor? I dont have the skills nec. and was just wondering? I dont know how much it would be worth to do this, so we can haggle.
PM me

I really do strongly recommend that you do it yourself because no one but you knows best how to assemble the armor in the most appropriate way to fit your body. The trimming and assembly may seem daunting at first, but it is the safest way to get a good fit.
I started out as a saber guy, only into collecting props and i didnt believe i would ever suit up in armor ever due to the lack of patience needed to slowly build up the costume. But to my surprise, after 2 months of trimming and assemblying, about 2 hours a day or so, i was trooping in the streets shaking hands with the public. Remember to take a few days break if you are beginning to get sick from cutting and assemblying ABS or styrene. That way you wont burn out your passion during the process of building up the costume.
If a saber guy like me can do it, so can you :)
:thumbsup

I agree on doing your own. I have absolutly no skills but I was able to put my TE suit together. I really liked TK1536 site

If you have any questions shoot me an email and I will try to help. Again this was my first suit/prop but I will help if I can.

You can always seek out your local Garrison and introduce yourself stating that you have armor. I'm sure one of guys are willing to meetup with you to give you a hand. Armor party :)

Plus the guys are right. You know your own body better than anyone else.

Offer free pizza and half the garrison may show up :D .

Anyone who would offer to do this without you being present would be screwing up your suit. You will need to be there for the fit and cutting and it will take at least a few hours to do right.

I urge you to check out your local 501st Legion Garrison and ask for some help. Pizza and beer is worth you not having to replace a screwed up suit.

What everyone else said.

It'd be a bit like hiring a tailor to make you a suit, but without you being present for fittings.

consider it a rite of passage, it feel good when you do it yourself, versus having someone do it for you. :) Just take your time, gather information on it, if your planning on joining the 501st, contact the local garrsion.

Agreed....trimming is the easy part...it's just time consuming. Fitment and assembly is key and you need to be there for that.

Check out my armor assembly thread (still in progress...I know, it hasn't been updated in awhile. :$)

I have some detailed trimming steps you could follow. I still have to get to final assembly, but Clutch has a great detailed assembly thread in the archive as well....check it out.

Just take your time, don't rush it. You can do it yourself.

Someone approached me about assembling their armor for them. They happened to be the exact same build as me, so it was an easy assembly. I was able to trim, assemble and weather an AP kit as a Sandtrooper in just under four weeks. I charged about $500, and the client paid for all shipping costs. Only thing I had to buy was a few tubes of glue.
