Hi i am teaching myself to use an effects program (After Effects) and i want some interesting footage to play around with i have filmed myself in various positions :) lightsabers blasters bluescreens etc but i want to do something that someone else has done i will have a go at anything really as long as its interesting.
So if you have a short film with sabers or blasters ,phasers ,stormtroopers or models shot against a plain background whatever and you dont mind me playing around with it please get in touch!
:)
heres my first attempt i did with my son and his friends its a little rough but fun :)

Not bad for a first attempt. Your computer images that you've done in After Effects look very good. I, too, am trying to learn AE since there is so much stuff that can be done with it. Keep us posted.

Cool film. Really enjoyed that, bet it was fun to do.

I really do hate the morons that leave comments on youtube.com.:rolleyes

Hi it was fun :) myself and my son used it as a learning experience with after effects and it also helped him gain a diploma and got him into University to study film making and special effects :) wish that kind of course had been around when i was his age :(

Me too bro, I am stuck doing boring law, would much rather have done something relating to film:unsure

I'm going to send you some new footage of running starships accompanied by TM's reworked TOS Star Trek tunes he did on his electric guitar.
I know you wanted blue screen, but I'm going to use the black screen I've been using if that'll work.

Right now I have 2 starships that I can shoot together, but we are moving in a few weeks to our horse property, and that'll delay progress on my part as far as model building goes.
We bought a couple acres and have to live in an RV while we build our house.

So, here is my plan,
Since I'd love to have you do special effects on one of my videos, and we spoke of you producing new videos of starships quite a while ago, I'll set up my lil studio in the next few days and get some new footage.
I'll try to make it the best I've done keeping the camera steady.
I really want to capture the fly by used in every scene that the ship is circling the planet, but smoothly moving the camera has been the problem.

I tried setting the camera on a little model car with the roof chopped off, rolling on a wooden ramp going past the starship, but that was too bumpy and the footage was dreadful. I thought about using a section of pipe to roll the camera on, since pipe should be smooth.
I packed up the studio to consider my options for the fly by shot.

Right now at least I have the original music TM made, so just getting the right shots is my problem.
Throw in the possibility of 2 starships running together and it gets complicated.
The other starship has a finished shuttlebay that can have a shuttle land on her flight deck, I would like to get that on video.

Controlling the tiny shuttlecraft so it dosn't wobble or spin will take rigging up 2 threads to hang it from, this'll keep it flying straight into the shuttlebay.
I'll get some new footage you can produce in the next few days, and thanks for offering to do it.
I'm really looking forward to it buddy!
Thanks,
Ron

Since you asked.. I need a blaster shot in my Stormtrooper video. The way I made the shot appear before really sucks, one thinks.

Hi i will have a play with whatever you send and try my best i dont give any guarentees but fingers crossed using a black background i can just add it to the shots.
