Anyone got a working DS gun? Let's see it!

Ah memories. So sweet that gun is.
I remember it well, seeing Logan's Run at the drive-in (Yeah-I'm that old.).

Having read through this thread, I have to ask you all this.
What would the "average" price of working Sandman Gun?

While I don't have the cash to get it now, next to a M-41A, the Sandman gun would be a must purchase for me.

As for Bryan Singer's involvement in a remake, I'm bummed. I saw him at SDCC in '05 and he talked a little about it. We wanted it to be a melding of the book, the movie and his vision. He related a story about how one of the prop people figured out how to do the live clock beneath the skin. Bryan said that's great but its a palm crystal and I want it to be just that.

As far as being dated, well, its half and half for me. While the hair show, bubble cars and some of the music makes it stand out, I think there's a lot that keeps it "futuristic".

OK, I'll look like a tool-why do you refer to it as a DS gun?

RUN RUNNER.

I think that is a book reference...DS= Deep Sleep.

As far as buying a Gun thats the trick, they really are not out there.

I can't think of anybody doing them now.

The Guru's were the best made and he no longer makes them.

Woohoo.
Yeah man, now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about...

Thanks Rylo :eek :lol :p

Yeah, DS = Deep Sleep. That was what the force the sandmen belong to was called in the novel.

I am currently reading the Logan trilogy and most of the time it is simply referred to as "The Gun".

Watchman-
Yeah, the authors were very iconic in their language referring to the tools of the Sandman-
The GUN, or just- GUN.
And by association, the specific ammo- HOMER. RIPPER. TANGLER. TICKLER. KANOODLER. ETC.

:lol

I should re-read the original novel. Are the sequals any good?

I am currently reading Logan's World and it's very odd; although the first one wasn't exactly normal either. It is definitely entertaining and I'm sure Logan's Search will be as well.

I don't recall them using the Tickler or Kanoodler ammo? I will have to read the first book again, it sounds like I might have missed some interesting moments. :lol

To me the dreaded "HOMER" round just does not have the same meaning after "The Simpsons" came out. :p

I have not read the books since the early 80's but I do remember I enjoyed "Logan's World" more than "Run".

Thanks so much. I was beginning to wonder if my memory was failing me from the movie.

I knew that getting the Gun would be difficult. Looking at what's been written, it looks like I'll to figure on at least a $1000 for one... IF it comes up. Probalby closer to 2K.

Just don't send your money to Australia.

I would hate to see another person scammed.
