Anyone ever use this French prop site before? http://www.movie-object-reproduction.

Just out of interest, has anyone here purchased from this site before:

http://www.movie-object-reproduction.com

Just inquiring if it is a genuine site etc, and if people have dealt with them before, how did their transactions go?

Over the years I have seen this site pop up on a lot of my google searches. So I finally ordered some stuff from there, and they still have not arrived. We are past the third week at this stage, and usually France to Ireland postage is like 4 days. Not three weeks. It was sent via Colissimo, and has been at Platforme Nord in France... wherever that is, for a crazy length of time. So I am worrying whether I am out a few hundred euro :/

Thanks for any help.

Hi Odin82,
I never deal with this site but just curious of what you ordered?
If it's a weapon replica, it might be at french customs (stuck or not).
If you have a tracking number, the seller can check if it's delivered or not, then you should be able to ask a refund or whatever to them, right?

Good luck with that!

I recently had a package from Malaysia (to France) and it took more than 6 weeks to arrive, with almost 3 weeks of no move at all... sometimes french post sucks.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah it was a replica sawn off shotgun. Would have worked out the same value as ordering from the states, which can't be said about a lot of the other items on the site. Huge markup on some other items like the knives from movies. I did do some googling about Platforme Nord, and some responses on some rather questionable websites, said that you can be waiting and it will continue showing as being there, and it will deliver to your door, and still say Platform Nord.

I just wouldn't feel good having to write off a few hundred euro.

They are legit from my experience. I ordered a couple of times from this website and even though their items are often overpriced I've never had any reason to complain about the service.
Your tracking indicates that your item has been dispatched, Platforme Nord is probably the last place it's been flashed by Colissimo in the country. Did you try to check it on your local's carrier website ? I don't know who takes over from Colissimo in Ireland but you might be able to get more informations that way.

Usually shipping from France to Ireland takes 4/5 working days tops using Colissimo. Also keep in mind that the recent events in Paris might affect your package delivery especially if it got delayed for whatever reason and reached customs AFTER the attacks. They are probably extra cautious now and given that it's a firearm replica it's likely to be thoroughly inspected.

Ah yeah, the first message I sent them stated, that understandably there would be a huge delay on the postal services. The company replied today that they would investigate, and I'm happy to report that the package just arrived in Ireland this evening. I presume the 10 day + delay after postage was because it was a replica firearm. The company probably inquired about the package and informed customs that it has no moveable parts etc.

Thanks for the replies and the reassurances about the site. There are a few things on the site that I'd like to order as well, so as long as I know the site is secure, all is cool!. Vive la France!
