Well, let's see. I think there were three sizes built. A large one (perhaps a couple) for the crash scene. A medium one (that was still pretty darn big) for the hangar scene, and a smaller 3 foot one that was used by VIFX to digitize to create the CG model. Theoretically, they were built from the same plans and were at the very least similar. All of the in flight stuff was done CG by VIFX - none of the models were filmed against a bluescreen ala FIREFOX. The medium model was shot on a stage for the shot were Travolta and Slater walk out to it. A section of the hangar ceiling was built to be used as a reflection element in the windshield. The bomb bay with the multiple launch rack was also a separate model.
VIFX didn't make any of the models, though the B-3 was filmed on their stage. After it was done, the rumor was that it was given to Travolta and transported to a hangar he had at the Santa Monica Airport.
After it was digitized, the smaller model was painted up in the proper colors (Gunship Gray and black) and decorated with the VIFX logos and hung on the wall of the conference room.
Hope this sheds some light on it. The film never showed the design off, really. I actually kinda liked it.

PS - yes, I worked on it. [/b]
