Anyone done work for Alec Peters - Propworx.com

I don't see a section about prop companies/sellers. So I hope it's ok to ask this in this section.

I wanted to know if anyone has done work Alec Peters CEO of Propworx.com? I done some work for Mr Peters for his star trek catalog. You can see my name and artwork in the book. I sent an invoice on Sunday, I emailed, sent a pm on his site and sent him a instant message about the invoice. I called him on Monday and I left him a message and he email me saying he would get back to me on wednesday. He never did. I called Thursday and left another message to get back to me, he did not get back to me.. We have been going back and forth for 7 months. He always says he would get back to me on a specific day and never would.

I just want to know if anyone else has done work for Mr Peters and had issues with getting payment from him. He seems like a honest businessman, but not sure what is happening.

I'm not sure I understood you completely there, but you did work 7 months ago, and just sent an invoice on Sunday? I wouldn't necessarily expect a payment turn around in less than a week from many companies. Why the long wait on the invoice though?

Well I just want to say first, that this post is not to badmouth Alec. I just want to know if anyone had any issues working for him

He called me and and ask me to do some work on the catalog. He did say we would workout some kind of payment. So I started the work because the catalog was due soon. When I was done I ask him what about high Rez photos in the catalog as payment. He said sure...I ask for the photos and would be told that he would get back to me on Monday and never would..then he said he would get back after the auction or in two weeks because he was traveling.. In September I ask again and this time he told me that would need the ok from Doug Drexler.. Over the months I was never told I would need to get the ok from Doug...i said ok and Doug said no...I come to find out that he told Doug that I wanted there vector art...all I wanted was photo..we go back and forth...so I told him I will send him a invoice for the work I did. I sent him an invoice and he seem ok..he said he would get back to me.

I did work for him once before and did not have any major issues with him. All I want to know if anyone else did work for him and had issues.

I have worked as a consultant for Propworx and would never discuss private details of any client relationship in a public forum. I can however assure you I have always been paid.

If I were you, I would continue to contact him privately - Alec does travel quite a bit and I am sure as soon as he can he will take care of whatever obligation you might have with him.

OK, since Joe has gone on multiple forums and tried to bring this matter public, I feel the need to respond.

Joe did a few hours of work on the Star Trek catalog and I told him I would give him the imnages from the catalog. These images belong to Doug Drexler and Mike Okuda. When I checked afterwards with Doug and Mike, I found out that Mike Okuda had had problems with Joe since Joe uses Mike's name in his Okudagram site. Graphics By Mike Okuda site. (I Just noticed when writing the URL here that it appears as "Graphics by Mike Okuda".....now you see part of the problem, Joe uses Mikes name constantly without permission). Mike is the nicest guy in the world, and said Joe refused to settle issues with him. Joe denies everything, and has refused to work things out with Mike. I have tried to act as a go-between and Joe has acted totally unprofessionally and irrationally. He has lied about outstanding issues and Mike is at wit's end with him.

So there is much more to this than what you are reading from Joe. And since I have been trying to work this out, Joe publishing here is exactly like the type of actions that have caused problems with Mike and me up till now.

Well I am glad that Alec is here. I have nothing to hide. The issues me and Alec have, has nothing to do with Mr. Okuda or Doug. This is about him being unprofessional.

There is not issue with me and Mr Okuda. When I started my Site Okudagrams.com I waned to have a name for a site that was about trek graphics. The term LCARS was taken. Okudagrams is a term used by the art team to describe the trek graphics.

When the site went online..I think it was online about 6 months. Mr Okuda got a hold of me about the site name. He wanted to make sure that no one would think that the site was run by him. Which is a fair argument. I told him that I would have a intro site that would tell everyone that the site is in no way associated with Mike Okuda or anyone who worked on the show. I have the same disclaimer on my graphics.

Alec told Doug and Mike that I wanted there Vector art. YES I WANTED VECTOR ART! I did not find out about this until I contacted Doug. All I wanted was the photos from the catalog to have as reference. I ask Alec why did he tell Doug and Mike that I wanted vector art. I asked him two different times..He did not want to reply back.

I emailed Doug a few times and told him If there is a misunderstanding with mike, that I want to fix it. I told Alec the same thing. I told Alec to pleases have Mr Okuda call me,email or send me a IM to clear anything up. Alec never did that. Alec never wanted me to talk to Doug or Mike about anything. (I have IM transcripts to back me up with everything I said)

To this day, I am not 100% what the issue is with Mr. Okuda. If there is an issue, I am still open to trying to fix this. My next post is a update of what is going on.

Update.

2 days ago, I got a IM from Alec. He was yelling at me about my post here and on another forum. He says I am a ***** ****** that I have to delete my post or I will not get a dime (This is in my Aim Transcript) He made a threat that he would tell everyone that Mike Okuda doesn't like me. (This is again in my IM transcript)

He tells me in the IM that Mike told me to do stuff and that I ignore him. (This is to show how he lies all of this is in my transcript)

I asked about my invoice and he told me that he is now sending the image files...again I asked about the invoice that he was working on..he said nothing I am sending your the image files. I then asked when, because he has told me this for the past 7 months. He tells me Damaris will be back from Orlando tomorrow and she will zip the files and send them to me.

I got a hold of Damaris the next day via AIM IM and asked her if Alec talked to her about photos. She said yes. I finally got the photos files. (I got the aim transcript and emails to prove all of this)

I got some advise from a member of the forum I respect. So I edit out the email...that's it

As someone who has hired many subcontractors and BEEN hired as a subcontractor many times since 1994, I can tell you... I would NEVER take a financial problem with someone publicly to a prop collecting chat room.

It is just plain unprofessional and just-about always makes you look like a doof.

Resolve it privately. If you have a real case and he won't pay, sue him. Whining to a bunch of prop collectors will accomplish NOTHING. (And it might give the other party a legitimate case of defamation and libel against you.)

Grow up.

I for one think it's wrong to "go public" with these sorts of things. I see no need for you (Joe) to continue posting these things ever but particularly AFTER you received the photos: not professional. You are making yourself look badly. Sometimes you just have to suck it up and caulk things up to experience.

They aren't hobbyists, you're trying to work in the professional world. This is not an RPF matter - the professional world is dealt with in more legal terms. You feel he owes you money for services? Take him to court, not the RPF.

And just for the record, I *was* confused when I went to the okudagrams website - it looks like his personal site, especially with bios and links to his wife's blog and stuff. I'd be furious if someone did that to me.

Rollerboi the link he posted to is not my site. That is Mike okuda site. My site is www.Okudagrams.com. I am not changing anything in this thread. If the admin feels the thread needs to be deleted that is up to them.My first post was to get information from Anyone who had any issues with him, to see what would be the best next step.

People asked questions and I just answer there questions, and not to make everything public.

In my opinion one should NEVER make matters like this public. Embarrassing Peters publicly and dragging Drexler and Okuda into this publicly will not be looked upon favorably or did you expect these guys to be happy your posting personal business, emails and private PMs here for the world to see? I can't blame any of these guys for being upset. This isn't a professional way to deal with these type of problems here. I'd also remove Okuda's name off your website because the name does look like something he endorses......there must be some other name you could come up with that works. You really shouldn't be surprised of how they reacted to all this.

Umm..did I bring mike okuda or Doug into this??? It was Alec Peters who did. All I did was ask a question about a vender who promotes on this forum. I have seen many thread asking questions or get info about a vender/seller if anyone else had problems with them.

As for the name of the site. If you feel this should not be public, then Why are you replying. If you do not know the truth and just defending alec..maybe you should not post. There is no problem with mike and the name of the site. As you see alec posted mike site and telling everyone here that the site is my site and I am using his name. My site is okudagrams.com and I had that site for over 6-7 years. Me and mike talked about that when the site first open..he wanted to make sure the site was not mistaken for anything he would do. I told him i would put a intro page with a disclaimer..mike said ok.

This is why more info was made public, because you have wrong information and people making faulse statements.
