Any thought on this First Avenger Captain America suit on the internet?

It looks nice for the price, but yeah, the jacket looks big and loose rather than snug-tight as it should be.

Welp, I took the plunge and purchased the one you mentioned. To answer your question it's neither bad nor is it perfect, but it's doable in the sense it'll require some adjustments. As a Base suit to work on top of, the price is fairly good.
Though I sent my measurements, the jacket is NOT form fitting. the striped waist area is very rigid and causes the nylon fabric to bunch up in the back when the belt is on. I took these photos to get a feel of what I need to do with it. Thankfully, I have a person locally who is fantastic with hemming a resizing fabric.
I purchased a star from Bamabat and that came in so, I'll be adding that to the costume once I get it back. My gloves and cowl are currently in the works, too.

Again, the suit isn't perfect but the level of coloring, design and fabric is not bad for the price.

It looks good and I'm thinking of getting one myself, but the colors are a bit off and the suit is missing a lot of seams.

Yea I was lookin at this before starting my T.F.A one, the off putting part for me was the odd dak colours on the pants but I messaged them and asked if the can do the pants all one blue and they said it was fine and they could do that for me, I ended up opting against it as I was havin trouble findin good gloves and helmets....

As Shellhead said it's not screen accurate.
I think the suit looks better than the movie one of course minus the fit issues.
What is surprising is how decent the shield looks. Is that the one from Disguise Costumes?

not a bad suit shell man nice boots!! I was going to do the avengers suit but as SDUK said I had trouble locating accurate boots and gloves so thought I'd do T.F.A

Yep, it's from Disguise and it really was going to be my only option for photos given the aluminum ones are going upwards of $800 and beyond! It was suggested to add a glue/fabric concoction to the back of the shield to keep it rigid--which I'll also do this weekend. Unfortunate it isn't as quality as I'd like it to be but, it'll do! :)

Thanks man, yeah..boots aren't the most accurate in the world but, by golly, they're pretty darn comfortable. But I also am taking a gander on these from Ebay: RARE CAPTAIN AMERICA BOOTS PROPS ART MASK WWII COSTUME SHOES ADVENGERS | eBay

I'll decide which of the two will be better (in hand) and then I'll go to work tweaking the preferred pair. I'm having the gauntlets made by Cosplay House. I'm taking a chance on them as they don't have an actual product pictured but, as all of their advertised commission items, it takes 5 weeks as they're doing it for the first time when paid..hopefully I won't regret it.

Personally, I would buy it and get a smaller size and any imperfections I'd take it to the local tailor. Treat it like a suit :)

How about a metal bracket with outer rim and straps like the back of the movie shield? I will be able to post a photo on Monday. Just attach it with double sided tape. You could remove it to use again if you make a steel saucer or spun aluminum shield.

Those boots are the ones I was looking at!! my biggest worry was the gloves but you should get an awesome pair now :D

I'm sure you already know this, and it was just a mistake, but the title says The First Avenger, but this is The Avengers version. Just letting you know!

That costume actually looks great for the price. I might have to get one too!

That sounds great and something i hadn't thought of. I really would very much like to see your picture as a reference when possible!

Hehe, yeah, I noticed the title and I figured it was a way to 'tag' potential buyer searches on Ebay. And a mistake --given the 'Ad' in "Advengers' :lol

I'll be sure to post pics of the boots once I get them--maybe that can help your decision IF you still go the Avengers Cap route. As far as gloves...let's hope!

I corrected link for you.

but just in case, The Avengers Captain America Elite Adult Costume - Costumes, 802634

Wondering too how well that suit will match up. Still waiting to see if that suit from the link will come near my size as I am thinner than the XL sizes but stand at 6ft tall.

Thanks Shellhead for taking the plunge. How much did you get it for? Or was it from that same eBay seller? I agree, from the pictures, that jacket seem to heavy for it to work out.
