I just wanted to post a few " works in progress" from my enjoyment of Spongebob. My son got me into it and I have since started watching it without him sometimes. Sad i know ,. but it's a fun show.
I started making some props from the show . mainly the packaging so far and then will work on the things that go inside. I did a full sized unicycle for a friend as a walk mounted piece , If I find images I will post it as well. want to do a bike and a unicycle this time around just for conversation pieces. I just got some left bikes from my apartment , so I might be able to make them sooner than later. Needless to say my son wants to take the bike ti " show and Tell" when he starts school.
Anyway here's some packages from some of my ideas. They are almost complete. They have been shrunk fro the images , so the lines are wacked. I hadn't done much with them in months , so I am tweeking them off and on.
Again I enjoy simple packaging without all the junk , besides they are mainly for my kid and fans of the show.

Here's what the images are:

1. Jellyfishing net - black area is for cello - real net made of bamboo and net
2. Spatula - white = cello - full sized Spatula but from metal
3. Dirty Bubble figure or ball ( Mego scale ;) )
4. Mermaid Man Belt box--white= cello / full sized belt for child wear.
5. Mego Styled figure cardbacks. No figures planned but love cardbacks

also doing plans for :

1. remote controlled " Gary the Snail" , like a mouse droid
2. Lunchbox from the justice league episode
3. Man Ray Helmet ( wayyy later)
4. Other Mermaid man and Barnacle boy props
5. Spongebob hat and " square" shorts for a closet prop.

yeah I do alot at one time...from Superfriends, Looney Tunes, SB and Spaceballs..I rotate out things daily to work on just to get it all done..lol

There was an episode with happy meals but they were krabby meals that were for Mermaid man toys.
This would seem to fit with your use of cardstock.

Awesome! I find myself sitting down to watch SB with my kids more and more often. Really clever, fun program.

I don't smoke near enough (Read "any") weed to be a Spongebob fan. That said, those are great boxes.

?? Huh ??

I have 3 kids, 2 who grew up on SB and one who is now old enough to love it. My 10 year old daughter just graduated out of her SB themed room into her tween room.

We watch a hellalot of SB at my house, and none of us have ever 'smoked' anything in our lives. It's a funny, smart, entertaining and well-written show that makes you laugh and teaches great life lessons to kids about true friendship and doing the right thing in life.

Great show.

SpongeBob is a better show than I gave it credit for for a long time. Reminds me a bit of Pee Wee Herman too. I met Tom Kenny a couple times because he grew up in my cousins neighborhood in Syracuse, NY and practiced in a garage band called "The Trend" with Bobcat Goldthwait who I also barely remember meeting when they were teens.

Cool Boxes. I would love to print those up (with props) for my girlfriend's son, who is obsessed with SB.

Well, you fit into the other category...you have kids. The other category of Spongebob fans fit into the category I spoke of. You may disagree, but every stoner I know of without chirruns LOVES Spongebob.

Stoners and many non-stoner young adults will still watch cartoons for no reason. The rest of us usually would rather watch something else unless we had a reason like kids around controlling the TV. The fact is that most of us would enjoy it if we gave it a chance...we might just not admit it to our coworkers ;)

I worked in Animation for years..... I have worked on the best of projects and crap projects. Trust me, SB is brilliant in the writing and amazing in the art. It is limited animation, but it uses it to the full advantage to create amazing art. No weed required. Sure, it is off beat in nature and theme... but it still has enough back bone to last as long as the Simpsons. Family Guy is another one that some people can't stand... but damn... that show is written so well. They just nail the humor and timing on the jokes.

yep and it can keep adults involved. Some of the humor is slightly aimed at us too. Good characters and fun stuff. And not as course as simpsons or Family guy. I had to get my son to stop saying " stupid" , now we say barnacle alot.

Great props! I am doing a Spongebob themed birthday party for our youngest son in July, and I was hoping to find some good images of Mermaidman and Barnacle Boy or the Goofy Goober Peanut Guy to make inviations from. Anybody have any screenshots/images? I appreciate any help you can give! :)

We are giving our youngest son a Spongebob party soon and designed some simple paper props. We've done Mr. Krabs' first dollar (just print on pastel green paper), Spongebob's driver's license, and Spongebob's Jellyfishers Club Member Card. Has anyone done any of the magazines or the Kelpo cereal box? Would like to see those. :)
