Any fans of G4 out there?

I searched numerous combinations, but didn't find any conversations about the topic. So I apologize if this has been discussed.

Attack of the Show and X-Play Cancelled by G4 - IGN

Anyone sad that G4 is rebranding itself and going in a less geek-friendly direction and trying to team with GQ or other men's magazine to create a more adult sophisticated station? Will this mean they won't have those Comicon shows that I enjoyed when I couldn't make it out there to California :(
 
I use to watch G4 years ago but they pretty much did away with everything that was good. I use to watch AotS but that got real bad real quick after Munn left. X-Play became pointless, and they somehow managed to saturate ninja warrior. All they do now is play the stupid show Cops.
 
I'm disappointed, but more because I have a friend who worked there and now likely won't be getting as much work. They're basically trying to challenge Spike for market share of 18-34 year old males. So, expect more T&A, and less geekiness.

Pretty much what I was going to say. G4 lost everything that made it awesome YEARS ago.


Also, this same **** happened years ago to the Sci-Fi channel, or as it's known now, "Syfy". :facepalm

Man, I really miss the old Sci-Fi channel.
 
I gotta be honest, I loathed X-Play in the past few years. Adam Sessler while slightly pompous on air I felt, is so much better than Blair. Maybe Blair is a really awesome guy outside of XPlay, but I just felt him and Morgan Webb were told to be as tool like and robotic as possible.

Now AotS, I felt they wouldn't replace Olivia Munn. But Candace Bailey does a fine job. She may not be as tech saavy, but she does a fine job of hosting. She is funny and entertaining. Kevin was funny, but the mismash of male hosts is somewhat annoying.

Sad though, because I liked the one geek/tech/hip channel that existed. I don't like Spike. Most of the programming is stupid. I hope for the best for G4, but fear the worst.
 
I never was a fan. Figurerealm got mention on attack of the show and all it did was have us flooded with tools and dbags with only a few figure customizers who were serious. Not to mention they sucked up to EA to get one of their people in Mass Effect as a useless character.

Amen, G4 has not shown me anything worth watching (outside the occasional Comic Con or Star Wars Celebration events) since the TechTV days. I had more fun watching an episode of Screen Savers than I did watching G4.
 
So the consensus is pretty much, put a nail in the coffin already because people were over the station long ago :lol

What's funny, I didn't even know Kevin left. I read it somewhere a month or two ago. Apparently he left last June or May I think it said. I stopped watching about 2 yrs ago.

But with everyone else, I loved TechTV and the old school old format Ninja Warrior.
 
And why were they airing re-runs of Call For Help??? Some were like years old with People calling asking if they should update to Windows Vista.. Who watches that anyway? ...
