Any advice on picture frames and their terminology? (Stargate Atlantis prop replica)

Hello!
I am a huge stargate fan and would like make myself a copy of this painting from atlantis:

I would like to get a frame that looks kinda like the one used on the show but i am coming up empty.
Do these have some sort of nomenclature?
Except for "gold trim picture frame" i have no idea how to ask google to give me a few leads on something that somewhat matches.

I don't think picture frames have a lot of terminology, but "gold leaf", "gold accent" or "gold inlay", can be used for searching. There are literally thousand and thousand of different types of picture frames to choose from. I think it just may have to do a tedious search of the internet, and local stores to find something you are looking for.

If you do find a similar but not exact frame, you can use Search Bing for Image (or similar tools on other browsers and search engines) to find the similar colouring and size of picture. If you do it just on the above picture, it will try and search for items that are similar in the painting, not the frame.

You may just want to find a similar shaped and coved frame, and just try to replicate the mottled texture of the wood and paint the edges.

If you have a Facebook account, I'd go to the SG-Command there, once approved you can ask there. We're a big Stargate & props group and we were the premiere SG props & costuming group back when it was still on the air. It's a bit obscure since most members tend to deal with the move iconic props, but there's always a possibility somebody in the group might know something about the frame.

Overall, I think that your best bet would be to print out that image and take it to a frame shop and look around in person and/or maybe ask one of the sales people if they have anything that comes close.

Good idea, thank you! i did not think of using a reverse image search. This one looks almost close enough if you squint hard enough. And it is pretty cheap.
