Anovos Trek/BSG Costume Photo Shoot

I really wanted the title of this thread to be "Matt Munson: The Most Interesting Captain In The Galaxy," but then, I suppose I should instead be giving props (no pun intended) to Anovos, who was kind enough to include me, Laamberry, fellow RPFer E-Wan and his lovely wife in a photo shoot for their product lines.

I must say first of all, without intentionally sounding like a commercial, that the Anovos product is just frickin' top notch. I paid a ton of attention to the Trek XI and TOS stuff, and from the research I've done, I would say it's dead on. The craftsmanship is also just stunning. This morning we spent an hour just looking at the seam work to see how they constructed them. Obviously, a lot of thought, effort, and artistry went into the making of these costumes.

For the full album of pics I chose from the shoot, please check out my blog!

But who cares. Here are pics.

I wish I could afford all the new Trek uniforms. They really do look amazing. Glad to see someone finally is taking the time to make Trek uniforms RIGHT.

Re: Anavos Trek/BSG Costume Photo Shoot

I just got the BSG tanks and they are great. Wish I had ordered two sets as I will be wearing them to the gym.

I went old school for Star Trek and ordered the Engineering Tunic-Long Live the Red Shirts!. I will probably regret not getting some of the revised ST tunics. I already regret not getting the BSG greens.

Let's see some more pics.

Cheers

Nope. Does not work for me, creatively. I am disappointed. Seriously disappointed. Devastated, actually.

What´s with the background? Way too much going on there. The Trek stuff has so much texture, it lives through texture, and the background rivals that with the rattan sofa and the bamboo blinds.

And what the heck´s going on with those shoes? Matt Munson´s a very casual dresser, we get that, in this economy everyone´s got to be ready to go hiking at any given moment, but Amanda, do you really have to overcompensate for that?
And then there´s that last pic, I expect a certain golden droid to show up any second to photobomb the pic.

But it´s good that you posted the worst pics of the shoot here on the RPF (as if we didn´t deserve better stuff without having to clickediclick on external links).

So, when´s the movie coming out? You know, "Matt Munson, intergalactic spaceman of mystery"?

Not sure if you're serious!

But either way, this was just a fun day hanging out with people and snapping some photos :D

P.S those are the only heels I brought with me to CA :(

I have to agree with MfN about the background. I feel like that really fell short. Generally I go out of my way when doing professional looking photos to try to use a setting that looks like it fits in with my costume. I dunno...to each their own I guess.

And on that note, can't wait to received my BSG double tanks in the mail!

In this thread: no fun allowed.

Wha... ?! D´OH!

:p

Glad I remove the fun zone from my heart and brain when I log on to the RPF :p

If that shoot happened at the casa del Munson I would have wagered a guess that there would have been enough time for Matt to build you another pair of heels for that shoot.

But if I had to pick three pics, for me it would be

Especially "the young couple right before the captain assigned them to that special first contact mission"

I am really curious to see what photos get chosen from the 700 that were taken during the session.

But forget my nitpicking and :thumbsup for the project :D

Awesome shoot, and I've gotta ask because I'm a ***** for jackets and coats, are the ones you guys wearing from BSG, or were they just your jackets? If the latter, where to cop?

Looks like a great shoot and quality costumes! I don't see how the decor of the room has anything to do with the awesome costumes....

Maybe if you guys shot the Trek costumes infront of a green screen with the Enterprise attacking Godzilla or something....:lol

But seriously you all look good in the costumes! And a great job to whoever made them!

All right space-man Spiff I expect those sideburns to be Starfleet reg on the next shoot! :p

Also you should be in a Command Tunic and not a expendible red-shirt! :lol

Laam digging the heels!! :thumbsup

That was such a fun afternoon! Angel and Amanda were the cutest members of Starfleet, while Matt and I tried our best to keep up!

I think people are missing the point of the shoot a little, which was to showcase the Trek and BSG costumes with everyday clothes and everyday settings. Otherwise we'd have done the shoot at the Apple Store :lol
