Anovos Stormtrooper.... thoughts?

I am really looking forward to this set, but I am a bit worried that with the insane amounts of orders on these kits, there will be long delays on shipping. I'm not really in a hurry and don't have any kind of deadline, just something I've had rattling around in my head.

I've ordered my helmet from Shepperton Design Studios. online you find them originalstormtrooper.com and I bloody love mine. but then it's only my opinion

They're so teh awsum. I understand Ainsworth sculpted the original stormtrooper from nothing more than a vague description he was given, cast the clay masters, created all the screen-used costumes, wore them in the opening scene of SW (there actually was just one costume, Ainswroth was multiple-exposed on the film...which he also shot as the camera man...er...no, he was the DP...and, ah, invented film while he was at it! But only because the world was not yet ready for his masterpiece, CGI and digital cinema which he was developing at the time), named the characters, and wrote the final draft of the screenplay, which Lucas later shamelessly claimed was his work. Then he flew off back to his home planet to fight all the bad guys.

Hahaha great reply. Love it. But honestly I don't care about the copyright issues Lucas and Ainsworth had. It's all about big money. I like my helmet. You apparently don't. The Brits mustn't be that bad though as Lucas called them to build R2 in SW VII.

You know what they say about opinions, they are sort of like you know what.

Seriously though, this is a thread about Anovos, keep it on topic and stop the SDS sales pitch. Anybody that knows trooper stuff doesn't care.

Hi guys,

Im new here. I would like to ask a question about the Anovos Build it yourself kit.

I am planning on buying a Complete Stormtrooper set "do it yourself" kit with a completed helmet, with shipping to Sweden I get it for 600$.

My question is, what will I need to do my self? I mean is everything included or do I need to buy stuff? Paint it? Cut stuff?

Thanks in advance!

All the parts will need to be trimmed, some detail painting, and all the strapping to assemble it together is required. You will also need boots and a blaster

Watch these videos : https://youtu.be/jmcZ8J_ZECA

Not the same kit but it will give you a pretty good idea. Just don't use zap a gap and zip kicker to glue stuff, that's for experienced maker. Use E-6000 instead, pretty strong and can be redone if you mess up. Takes 24 hours to cure but for newbies, it's a must!

Thanks for the info and tips!
I just dont want to have to be cutting stuff, have to buy paint and paint most stuff and etc.

But by getting it all together like strapping pieces, adding some smaller paint details and adding stickers etc is cool.

Sorry for the stupid questions but I just wanted to make sure that its not somw advanced "do it yourself in the garage" stuff. Lol
Ill watch the video, thanks!

It looks pretty straight forward! One thing is that you have to do your research so that you do it right the first time.

One thing you could do is to have a look at the 501st boards over at whitearmor.net

That's the website of a worldwide group of stormtrooper costumers. It's kinda like here but for stormtroopers. Some think they're a bit elitist but they've been pretty nice with me so far! Plus the amount of knowledge on stormtrooper armor building is incredible!

I've been on the whitearmor.net boards for over a year and have not really seen any "Elitist" comments. I think that was in the past, and from a few individuals, now it is a very welcoming forum. With all the interest the Anovos TK offer is generating, there will be a fresh wave of new people asking questions. I highly recommend going there, even if it is only to do research. The building technique tor the Anovos TK will be the same as most build threads on that forum.

Ok just watched most of the videos, and it looks quite advanced! I dont know if I will pull it off! :/

You know, many of us who have built these were very intimidated at first, but then dove in and found it to be kinda fun and really rewarding. It's very cool to respond to a little kid who asks "Whoa! Where did you get this!" and you say "I made it myself!". ;) It's very doable if you're patient and the bonus with this kit is the helmet is finished. That's probably the hardest part to assemble of the whole project.

Exactly, the first one I put together was a PVC kit. I was intimidated as the material is more flexable and required a different approach, but it wasn't hard and well worth the cost savings. Just takes a little time.

I just received a status email from being a 350$ kit purchaser..and posted the following to their Facebook page...."regarding the Episode4 stormtrooper kit. Those of us experienced troopers purchased this kit to assemble to a higher standard and accepted the prebuilt helmet because we had to...you (anovos) now offer that same helmet in kit form. Could the kit purchasers forgo the assembled helmet and get a helmet kit instead? That is the purpose of the kit vs. Assembled option." GOTMAUL....could you chime in as Im sure others feel the same way? Thank you
