ANOVOS Darth Vader

It's not perfect, and really, nothing is, but damn, this turned out far better than I was expecting from Anovos.

OK! So not a perfect comparison, as camera angles and distances are well off, but you get the idea.

Personally, I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers. LOL

I hope Anovos can keep these in the pipeline (aka, not make them a limited run, aka Efx Legend and LE). It's not a bad little addition to Vaderdom.

Right? I mean that shot is the first thing that jumped to mind when looking at the pics Shull24 put up - it's got a strong ESB feeling to me. I was thinking that the dome might be a little short, but then looking again I think it's the positioning. That might actually be a bit of a problem with their magnetic/keyed arrangement - seems like it would be a bit of work to change if one wanted to. As far as feeling like the CA, I went and looked at my unmodified CA again, and while, yeah, I guess there's something to that, the Anovos offering looks much better to me.

Well, if anyone who pre-ordered their Vader costume is having second thoughts or buyer's remorse, I'll buy it off you. I don't care about accuracy as much as I do about wearability, so this would suit my needs just fine.

Hit me up.

The complete nasal bone and the nose is spoiled.Bad cast from Anovos.:thumbsdown
But for a Halloween party it would look good.

Glad to see these are finally shipping out, i am still waiting on my OT Stormtrooper bucket to arrive

So for those lucky enough to have recently gotten both the Anovis & efx Vader lids, if for whatever unrealistic scenario you can think of, you were forced to only keep one of them which would it be? Would that decision even be close?

What's the one on the left? Quasimodo v2?

A customer support staff member has replied to your support request, #982619 with the following response:

Having reviewed your request, we at ANOVOS would like to make you an offer. We understand that you are rightfully upset by the delays of the product, but wanted you to be aware that this product is almost at the stage of shipment. We are simply waiting for some of the final pieces to reach our shipment center where they can be packaged and sent to you and other customers. We anticipate that, at this time, it should only take another 4 weeks; 8 if major issues are run into. We would hate for you to possibly miss out on this fantastic product.

After speaking with my supervisors, I have been authorized to give you both free shipping as well as 10% discount on your next purchase with ANOVOS for the inconvenience this has caused you. If this does not appeal to you and you would still rather cancel, I can do that for you right away. Just respond to this email with your preference and we will facilitate you ASAP.

Have a good day!

We hope this response has sufficiently answered your questions. If not, please do not send another email. Instead, reply to this email or login to your account for a complete archive of all your support requests and responses.

I got an email from Anovos Wednesday -
" Your payment has been refunded, and you should receive that refund back to your account in 2 to 4 business days. "
Hopefully the refund shows up next week.

This is a discussion board for people to discuss props and point out the pros and cons of the prop replicas sold by vendors. Coming onto this board and calling it's members names to start a feud and/or flaming will get you banned. Please feel free to express your opinion as to a particular prop but you need to avoid the name calling as it only shows your ignorance and immaturity to what this hobby is all about and the name calling is against the rules of this board.

I apologize for the language used. Unnecessary and stupid on my part. No excuses. Sorry.

I agree with you, Pawn, that pointing out the pros and cons of the replicas sold by vendors is kind of the point of being here. Comparisons to "Halloween costumes" and dismissing the helmet out of hand as "not even close" without further explanation as to the why didn't seem to be productive commentary to me, but in retrospect I should have just left it. I don't think anyone had any intention of being malicious or inciting trouble (I include myself here as well).

The discussions about what's inaccurate, the differences between different replicas in the pursuit of being more accurate, that's what I think is most interesting about this place. The thing is, I'm sure all of the people posting in the thread do have some good input into what is nice about the helmet, and what could've been better. Heck, hearing about what needs improvement is usually more beneficial than pages of praise.

As far as I'm concerned, what this hobby is all about is having fun collecting what you love, interacting (more appropriately than I've managed to today) with other members, and trying to eventually learn from those who truly know their stuff. Next time I'll do more listening, especially when I have nothing of substance to add. As far as anyone gauging my knowledge of this place by my number of posts, I can only say that I have done a lot more reading since joining, with several years of lurking here and elsewhere before that. I'm not new here, even if I do look it. But infer whatever you wish, I suppose.

TLDR: Mea culpa.

Praise the Force, my helmet arrived today. Full analysis over the weekend, but nothing so far to make me regret the $250 tier one price. Also a nice surprise that it arrived today instead of Tuesday when the expected delivery was.

Include photos :). Congrats on your new piece, & can't wait to read your reviews.
Wish mine would ship!

People need to keep in mind the price of the helmet and that it is a mass produced item from a costume company. Expecting it to be as accurate as a much more expensive, low volume helmet isn't very realistic.

It sounds like the Anovos helmet was a very good value for those that got the tier 1 price. Even at the current price it looks pretty good.
