Just got to say thank you all very much for the encouragement, advice & interest in this wee build,.....I never got to totally finish it.....I'd say I got to about 90%......but this model has been shipped off to a RPF member,....who also bought my RMQ Falcon

Hello Jaitea, First of all what a gorgeous job on your MPC Falcon! Incredible work. I'm new to RPF, but I've been building and scratch building models for decades. It's inspired me to dust off that same kit box that I've had unopened since 1985. In looking at the side panels I see what folks are saying about how terrible they are. A quick web search led me to find the Blue Moon resin side panels kit, but nobody seems to have one for sale. Do you know where I can get that upgrade? Or is there any other resource for decent side and mandible panels? Also, did you thin out the MPC shell edges all along the outside? The thickness on the shells that came with my model look too thick... I'm so glad to have your model photos as reference. What are some other good reference sources for this era of Falcon? Thanks so much for a great build out thread!

He made his superior (I think) upgrade set because of the frustration on trying to track down the BlueMoon set

He made a batch & I think he's making another

Yeah I thinned down the hull plating,.....but the thing I always regretted doing was getting the richt shape for the ship....it is waaaaaay too flat
