Thanks Randy, the cargo ramp thing might work out, but if it doesn't the 'cargo' cover should just stick back on with magnets...

Second that. That photo with the lift got me curious...
Also a question Mr J. Will be necessary a different armament if this model will be used for animation purposes? Im interested to see how your green screen room will welcome this beauty ship

Angel, thats something I'm going to seriously have to think about, hmmmmm.....

A little work on the Landing gear area & loading bay...sorry I sprayed the detail in black.....it's a bit hard to make out

It's mostly made of a 1/72 Panzer Tank....trying to keep in theme

The part is still removable because of the lighting box which I haven't finalised yet

Hopefully moving on to the more visible a loading platform in the next few days

As stated previously, good look'n work. However, I am curious how the yellow highlighted area opens up so that the lift elevator lowers. This was from the Haynes book right, I'll need to add it to my reference library.

Scratchy, the yellow highlighted part sort of disappears in accordance to the illustration in the Haynes book:

I made a rough version of the part & attached it to the lift,...to tell you the truth, I'm not that happy with the whole thing & am thinking of having another attempt at the thing (the whole lift & hydraulics)......I'll not scrap the current one, just make an alternative v2.

The Haynes book is very good, they did a lot of research from all official sources & ironed out as best they could impossible spaces.

The Haynes book does indeed have a lot of information on what goes on under the Falcon's armored hull, that is a lot of fun to go thru. But what I found lacking was the photographic material showing the exterior of the Falcon. If there ever was a book with proper photos of the Falcon filming models (both top and bottom) and the filming sets, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. You know, a museum quality film history research book with all new photography of the models, warts and all.

Again, splendid work, looking forward to seeing the ramp V2.

Thanks Avanaut, there is a shortage of professionally photographed reference material....I'd buy the Falcon publication no mater what price if there was one!

Some work on the Loading Ramp & V2:

My concept of what becomes of the highlighted part in this photo.....:

I don't know.....V2 obviously isn't finished, but I think the original looks better.

For the following photos I used the landing gear from the FineMolds kit.....just to see what the Loading ramp would look like with the gear down, also using the 1/72 Han Figure to give some scale:
