Another Jack Sparrow Compass

Hi there!

As it is end of term in Germany, I decided to build a Jack Sparrow Compass.
I used some tutorials I found in the web and a picture out of my boyfriend's book about 'Pirates of the Caribbean'...

It took me about a month to get so far... the 'keyring' on the back is still missing and the next thing to do will be the 'used look'...

The compass is not perfect... I was a bit confused of the huge variety of compasses in the internet which all look different... especially talking about the floating disc...

But have a look yourself:

and from the back:

The glue is not dry yet, so there are some white drops above the floating disc:

And the floating disc is movable... I am quite proud about that fact :rolleyes

That's it... hope you like it :angel

If i may make a suggestion, maybe a bit of sanding where the peices of trim meet so as to remove the seemlines, and maybe ink the floating disc to add a bit of definition. Either way, its a lovely replica!

Hi!

Thank you all for your comments.

I'll do the sanding (did it before... but I try to improve). Unfortunately I can't change anything on the floating disc anymore.
As it is movable it is fixed by the three golden little sticks that can't be removed without destroying the compass. I made the floating disc out of plexiglass and painted it from the other side... so the 'unpainted' side is now the upper side.

Here the pic i used:
