Another HIC completed

Well I have been inspired by the RPF to start prop building. OMG is this stuff addictive. OH well, I thought I should share my first major build. I know its another HIC, but for me I loved how it turned out. Got some of the parts from members here also.

Fantastic. I just ordered my frame kit yesterday to start mine. I like that you went with the black panels. I'm still trying to decide black or grey.

Cheers John, the panels are actually pewter in colour (might look black from that angle). Painting this thing was a real task as there are several shots from ESB and ROTJ with different schemes. And silver at certain angles in light gives different shades of silver. I started with a dark box (gun metal grey) but soon changed it to give it a bit more contrast with the panels, and inserted stainless 'builders flashing' into the 3 squares in the dash panels. The black acrylic wash over the middle of the box gave a different look to the general silver also. And another pain was when the clear paint coats go over the silver/pewter and chrome paint it flattens the shine look altogether. So there was alot of experimentation to get the look I was after. 'Front on' I was hoping for the ROTJ colour scheme.
