Another gold metallic paint question

Ok, I know there have been alot of threads around here about gold metallic paint, but I think this one is slightly different.

I'm looking for a brush-on gold paint that looks like a good, realistic, shiney gold...NOT a spray...I like having more control with the brush-on paint, and besides, I'm not all that good at spray painting without making the item I'm spraying turn out worse than before. :confused

I want to make my Staff of Ra headpiece look more like real gold. I made the whole thing by hand with clay, and I really, really don't want to have to make another one anytime soon. But the paint I used on it looked great for a few weeks, and now it's just all dull and pathetic.

Does anyone know of a brush-on gold metallic paint that works as well as some of those spray on paints I've seen in so many other threads? I'd really like this thing to have that cool, shimmering gold look...can't afford to go and have it gold plated, either (though that would be excellent). *lol*

Have you considered Bare Metal Foil?

Wow...now THAT is cool. I DID consider using a thin gold foil that I have (actually the inside wrapper from a candy bar), but wasn't quite thin enough to get into the fine details. This looks like it might just be perfect. Thanks alot. :p I think I might just buy some of that and give it a try...I read it over, and it seems that even if it doesn't work I'd still be able to peel it off pretty easily. Thanks again...I think I'll get some of that and try it out. I'll post a pic or two afterwards to show how it came out.
