Another 3d Printed Pulse Rifle.

Just thought I'd post my attempt at the Aliens Pulse Rifle, the stl file I used was pretty old and very rough around the edges so needed loads of sanding/filling/repeat, I wasn't happy with the first shroud colour (too green) so I sanded yet again and added more bess Brown to olive drab. Anyways let me know what you think and also thanks for having me.

Looks good dude, but may I humbly suggest filling the rear circular hole on the barrel vents (a detail that the airsoft PRs have), it is meant to be an indent, not a hole.

Apart from that, outstanding job!!!!!

I shall look into that fella and thanks for the compliment..!

Making sure it fits together, aluminium barrel cut to size, weathering started on shroud and Thompson/Spas12 cage using a toothbrush.

Good job dude, looks good.
Just to give you some more ideas on where you could possibly improve, here are my Matrix , and a PR that I’m building (black one).

The chambers on both of my rifles are empty - the Matrix is a functioning airsoft rifle (not much help to you), and the other one has no guts in the Thompson receiver. In fact, the black one still needs a few more parts to be deemed "finished."

Sorry for all the questions..what's inside the Spas 12 cage on the airsoft and is a Thompson grip metal or synthetic?.

Never be sorry for asking questions dude.
Airsoft Spas cage is currently empty (battery normally goes in there), but the breech has a shotgun shell in it (plan on changing it to a grenade replica at some stage). The other PR has no guts in the Spas cage either (the M870 is one of the parts that I need).

As for the Tommy grip, the real ones were made of wood, and filed down then painted black.
Most airsoft PRs tend to have the plastic grip. I am looking for a replica Thompson grip myself (the brown one, in either plastic or wood).

if you don't mind the questions...how is the Spas cage mounted to the shroud/Thompson?
What are the half hexagon (one either side of shroud) with the two screws/pop rivets for?, Are they one complete piece of two separate pieces?
what colour are the plates at the front and back of the lower shroud near where the mag goes?, Some I've seen shroud colour, some Spas cage colour/Thompson colour?
What is the Spas pump handle made of?
I can't thank you enough for the help fella.

Some builds use the Thompson foregrip bracket to mount the Spas, others use a metal block.
Check out the following threads on the Aliens Legacy. They all have different approaches to attaching various parts:

The 'half hexagon' parts I am not sure of their function (I am hardly an expert on the Pulse Rifle, there are many around who know far more than I do). On my black PR, they are molded as part of the shroud, but on the Matrix, I think that they are plates.

The plates on the front and rear of the magazine well are normally done in the same colour as the shroud. They are support plates to keep the bottom of the shroud together. Some builds that I have seen also have an extra plate on the front and rear of the carry handle/sight as well.

Spas pump grip is synthetic, replica ones can be resin or plastic, depending on the source.

A few pics of my static '95' 7 segment 2 digit display...cost £5 in total but a complete headache with the soldering!. I'm looking into a 'counter' version but need to get my head around the electronics and such which doesn't help that I'm a complete novice.

Looks pretty good :) I've had someone asking me for ages to make them a Pulse Rifle but always said no as I can't find a suitable commercial-free 3D file.

Not sure how much progress you've made, but here is some info;

The "half hexagon" you might notice wraps around under the shroud and is a single piece. I expect it helps hold the 2 halves of the shroud together, as they're split right down the center. In your photos I note this piece is missing.

The SPAS pump is plastic, so don't go weathering it with silver :) I used a satin black on mine then gave it a bit of a buff for the "wearing smooth" effect (did not do this polishing inside the grooves).

Trivia; inside the SPAS cage is a Remington 760 shotgun (minus things like the stock and trigger guard). The left side of the SPAS pump will have a small rectangular plate and 2 rivets - this is what attaches the pump to the slide of the Remington.
