Hey everyone, just like to announce that on July 10 in the town of Hope B.C., the Rambo Bridge: The Final Take Celebration will take place. The original bridge that Rambo gets arrested on in the movie FIRST BLOOD will be torn down sometime this month (the exact date seems to fluctuate, so who knows). :cry The Town of HOPE, B.C. where most of the 1982 film starring Sylvester Stallone was filmed is hosting this celebration. So far the celebration will include ceremonies at the bridge location. I am organizing a re-creation of the confrontation and arrest of “Rambo” at the bridge for the spectators using local Vancouver actors. It looks like uniforms/costumes and a vintage police cruiser will be donated for the event by IMS Ltd. (movie prop house) for use in the re-creation. Should be a fun day for those that can make the trip to the sleepy mountain town.
As some of you may already know through other RPF threads I filmed a short 25 min. parody of FISRT BLOOD late last year and it will be premiered at the celebration; THE JOKER CHRONICLES – First Blood (a Bohemian Films production). :cool

That would be cool, wish I could make it, sounds like fun.

After they tear it down sneak in and grabe me a cool peice of the bridge and I will pay to have it mailed to me, then I will have a screen used "prop" from the film.:lol

At least film the re-enactment so we can check it out online.:thumbsup
 
Yes..PLEASE film it, would love to see the recreation and other First Blood events they might have planned. Thanks again.
 
A friend and myself made this video in dedication to the bridge when we heard of its fate. Here it is, for those who might not have seen it already.

i will work on filming it, but i don't have a cam myself, so it will have to be a "borrow" thing, which i can't guarentee. but i will try.
 
UPDATE......Looks like Actor STEPHEN M.D. CHANG who portrayed the VC Commander in the Vietnam flashbacks in FIRST BLOOD may be showing up. :thumbsup If I can get my hands on a HD camera i will film the event for those who can't make it. :love
BUT so far as re-creating the bridge scene between Rambo and Teasle...doesn't look good. :cry I have posted ads looking for actors but...nothing. Apparantly NOT a single ACTOR in the greater Vancouver area thinks he either looks and/or sounds like Stallone or Brian. :confused :confused I am puzzled.....Actors are usually a extroverted bunch. Will keep you informed....

This made the local news. They asked 'why not leave it?' It's not in the way of the new one.

There was a Rambo look-a-like there.
 
Hate to see classic film locations (or structures) being torn down. So many have been lost, or heavily altered.

Hope that the Chain Of Rocks Bridge never suffers this fate.
