I crashed a party at one of her New Orleans homes years ago. I was a journalist covering libraries and publishing and knew many book publicity people who'd tipped me off. Anne was very nice, short, chunky, had very long hair and was quite pretty. She was drinking a can of TAB, and when I commented that I didn't know it still was made she said that she bought up all the TAB shipped to New Orleans and had it stored in her basement (you know you have too much money when). The party was in the house where she entertained, and it was a riot of religious artifacts she'd bought from churches (statues of saint, pews, etc.) and a massive polar bear rug.
I was a fan of the early vampire novels but parted company with them before the series ended. Thought they started getting silly.
Rest easy, Anne.
