I read all the earlier Dragonrider stuff.

    And girlfriends always loved them.

Ditto and ditto. I can't reread her stuff these days but as a kid I loved it. RIP Anne.

I've only read a few of her thinks she wrote with Mercedes Lackey but I know a ton of people who grew up reading the Pern novels.

I seem to be among the few people who actually preferred The Rowan and its sequels to the Pern series, but I still thoroughly enjoyed everything of hers I ever read. Always sad to see yet another great talent pass on.

I was seriously bummed to hear this... she's been on my list of people I'd like to meet for years. Unfortunately, it'll never happen now. :(

Am I the only one that liked the "Brain & Brawn Ship" series?
