Red Bear Entertainment and Hannover House announced today that they have made a deal to create Terminator 3000, a new animated Terminator 3D film with a $70 million budget. The movie will feature the same characters and events from the original Terminator.

The film is trying to score a PG-13 rating, meaning the violence will have to be kept in check. No word on if any past stars from the film series will be back. Production is set to begin in January.

I'm so tired of PG 13 terminator movies. its the terminator its meant to be R rated dang it. I would love to see the original cast back to do the voices but until Arnie's out of office he can't really do alot. He had to film his part in Expendables at 4am so it wouldn't get in the way of his job.

$70 million for an animated movie?!? :confused
Not enough I know... I feel your pain...
(You have to pay artists working on it, you know... Computers doesn't make these movies by itself... Just saying...)

P.S.
Personally I wouldn't use Advent Children as an example of a photorealistic CGI movie, nor Spirits Whitin, some nice materials and matte paintings are for sure, but most of the times characters aren't, that's one of the reasons why I like movies with a strong stylization of everything, from characters to materials, to environments and props...

But a movie done like the videos that Digic Pictures did for Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood, while they still lack some of the realism needed to pull it of really convincing CG people, they surely looks great, and lighting and direction were great as well.:)
