ANH-Star Destroyer

I'm having trouble finding the knobs with the exact shape. Where did you buy these?
Also, if you don't mind my asking, where do the greeblies that detail the perimeter come from?

Fantastic build, by the way!
yeah for sure! I have molds of these as well and can cast you some if you can't track them down I got them off amazon. The details around the sides are just little styrene chips I cut into diamond shapes and glued on.

Here is what they look like placed on top, just sat them up there they may not be in the exact location but you can get a sense of the size of them

I had a lot of these kits before I sold everything. Wish I still had them, or at least could remember them.

Yeah after the Falcon I decided to keep all of them, glad I did. I only had to buy like 20 kits to get pretty close to the studio model this time! hahah honestly I'm probably only missing about 5 or so at this point, I might bite the bullet and get them, This started off as a build to just eat a bunch of the kit parts I already had and get the forms accurate but just use what ever greebles I had. But like I said, i've bought like 20 kits just for this model now hahah With a couple still on the way. Finally found those structure pieces in the Airfix Missile Launcher kit and had to have them, I'd already scratched that area but I'll pull it off and add these when I get them.

I'll probably be a little loose hear and there with greebles on the walls and engine area but figured since I already have all these kits I probably have them, so have been hunting them down one by one heh.

I found a pretty close match to Archive X’s reefer white. I’ve been concerned about being able to get enough if it to paint this model. Looks like Tamiya’s AS-20 insignia white with a Matt clear coat (which surprisingly made the color a bit brighter) is a REALLY close match. I’m considering going this route due to the ease and availability of it.

The side tranches are painted Reefer WhiteX and the piece of plexi is painted with Insignia. One half had a clear coat applied and the other is as it comes out of the can with a bit of sheen to it which I don’t want.

Can someone help me with this part ID, i've looked everyhwere and cant find it, I'm starting to feel its in some random kit that only gives this ONE part to the model. Much appreciation if you can. I REALLY need the satisfaction of sticking that Panther part in there!!

Nichimo Elefant.

Craig
Thanks!! Yeah this is a kit I don’t have, don’t even have any of this brand. I guess ONE more kit wont kill me…

…checks EBay…

Oh hey, only 300$!! I feel a 3D print coming on haha I mean it’s such a simple shape and I need to get some prints for those Battle of midway parts anyways since I can’t find that kit anywhere. Should be easy enough.

Looks like I need to chop this lower deck down about 1/4” on each side. Trying to figure out how this got off since the back all lays out correct. Making me thing this might taper towards the front and not actually be the same width across the front as it is the back…the kit parts don’t lie:p

Apologies for asking this in a different build thread mate, but I’m just wondering what happened with your total rebuild of the Deago MF ? Did you end up installing those incredibly insane lights for it’s engine ? Where can I find pics of that beautiful build ? This new build is a great resource too, thanks for sharing.

Keep checking. I've scored some deals on there recently. Got an Aurora M8 for a good price - a kit that I never had (could never find) before when I was collecting. (Really only need a Bandai Stug and a Sealab III for a complete X-Wing now, but not worried too much about the Sealab III). Tamiya 1:12 F1 prices are all over the place on eBay: $120-$230 for the same kits, so a Nichimo Elephant might show up for a reasonable price.

Found this:

Not sure how the shipping costs to the States will look like, though...

Unless you're a real-plastic-parts purist, I can send you resin castings of everything xWing related from both th Stug and the Sealab.
