ANH Obi wan 's boots? what were they?

I'm thinking of putting together an old Ben costume and I haven't seen much around in the way of his boots.I've seen some really good costumes and I honestly don't have a clue about his footwear ! Does anyone know what was used in the movie?

I'd be interested in any reference that may help.

They always looked like Frye campus Boots to me but I know that can't be true.

You might ask vaderdarth as he has a great Obi-ANH costume.

i always wondered that too, you never seem to get a good view of his shoes cuz of the long clothing he wore.

nothing yet, but theres a guy there thats supposed to post shots he has showing some views of the boots. but noone knows for sure what they were yet.

Yes that was me, and unfortunately, I've misplaced the pics showing the boot. If you have the DVD, just go to the scene where he's bending down over Luke who's just been beaten by a tusken raider............you can clearly see the heavy workboot tread on the bottom. It's a medium brown leather boot. The one that is shown on tour is flat soled......no tread......so that one isn't correct. The one used on film.........is heavily treaded in every scene I could find of Ben. I found a plain brown pull on type work boot at Wal Mart for my costume. Because you never see above Ben's ankles in the film, its hard to see how tall those original boots were. The Wal Mart boots are just a short (mid calf) high boot.
