ANH OB1 lightsaber.

Yes,exactly what it is.
It´s just looking like a static,except the blase lock bolt,and a 25,4mm(1")internal diameter instead of 26mm diameter.
I put an interest thread, please take a look.

Here are some pics made by the actual owner of a modified parks mk3,with my first luxeon ready emitter.

Today I did same thing for a luke rotj v2 lightsaber.
I made a special enitter for a 1"blade,that will be attached on a existing v2 lightsaber.
Was really funny to do,quite easier than the obiwan emitter!!!

That emitter and grenade section look great. Also, I was impressed with the corroded pommel- that looks amazing! Thanks for sharing the technique.
Will you be posting completed pics?

Lots of work to do on this saber...
I will try to make a static version this month.
I have to find technical solutions for blade retention, and electronics, but will be for 2013...

About corroded pommel,I'm planning to build a complete lightsaber with that look,I fond some used electrodes made from copper, great look, like they had burned with too powerfull energy blade inside, would make a very good emitter!
WOuld be possible to make a very damaged body from two sections of steel tubing, really really rusty,to make the inside visible...

Here is the last update of the friend's lightsaber:

You can see the accurate look, even there are fx,and the special recharge port, accurate too, with special design kill-key,removable only for recharging.

Hey Patrice,

Very nice work indeed!

Could this working emitter also be made available for lightsabers made by Russ Replicas?
Or even those with real vintage grenades or brass/brons casted replica grenades?

Hi Chaim.
I'm actually talking to Russ about this project.
I saw his actual run for grenades, and added a thread on our french forum to make a group buy.
the idea will be to make them pay for the parts, make assembly, and deliver finished sabers(wheathered fx ready sabers,no electronics inside)
I meet problems for a decent price at my shop for emitter run,so I would see with Russ if he would be interested in machining them.
For the moment we are 5.
I saw some guys in USA too,who would be interested in,maybe about 4 guys.

Of course the idea is to make emitter for Russ, original, and Parks parts.
For Russ and parks,no problem,I already know how to do.
For other makers, don't kow, have to have the grenade in the hand before telling...

The final idea would be to create a complete assembly kit, like russ does, but usable for fx ready saber,so,it will have to be hollow,I think there will be some modifications, especially inside of the booster.

I actuall y have a rough finished emitter,if you want, you can send me the brass section of the grenade and I will machine the emitter for your grenade...

Seems all the front of the saber on photo will be available for sale in the future, the guy wants a steel Russ grenade, and I will make another emitter and assembly kit for the clamp,so he will sell the actual parks grenade and emitter, can go il a standart graflex clamp, can have old, russ or other booster and pommel.

Hi Patrice,

Thanks for your offer much appreciated however the brass section is heavily glued to the grenade and can not be removed without the use of great force. Since this is a bronze cast of real grenade I do not want to temper with it to much.

you can ship entire grenade,I ask only for the brass section to make "customers" secure I won't do anything with only the brass section, and because it's lighter to ship than the entire grenade!
Today I made some work on my antique archaic lightsaber.
I had some ideas of design, but finally did a scratch, without any idea, just looking at copper and steel parts and choose one instead of other...then I mounted on the machine and modified by turning...

I left a little bit the main obi project to make a set of 3 sabers for friends, using parks grenades, clamps and boosters, and Romans pommels.
The sabers are fx ready, with charge port, optic and blade holder.
Here are the parts as they came:

You can see a inaccurate detail on grenade, the front of the frag body, but the other details are good.
The booster is really simple, just a profile of black aluminum...I wuld prefer russ boosters, but the sabers must be achieved for April...

Here is the first modification:

bost10.jpg

I machined the threaded section from delrin, and sealed in the aluminum part.
I created a threaded section in the booster, and in the pommel, then the pommel screws directly on booster, that screws directly on the internal choke under the graflex clamp.
The grenade has been modified too, longer threaded section th screw directly on the choke.
it leaves a 28mm room inside the grenade,a 25mm room inside the booster, and a 30mm room under the clamp.

Here are the assembly pieces:

You can see the aluminum spacer,it is hollow,to leave room for sound and electronics.
You can see how I modified the frag body front,I enlarged the slope.

And here is the final shape of the aluminum choke, the inside has a delrin holder for speaker, with sealed volume for better mid-bass sound.

I put the speaker in the plastic holder, then it goes in the aluminum, and the grenade maintains all in place.

Then I made the emitters, external shape first(no holed on this photo, just plain steel)

The charge port have custom nuts and custom kill keys,to have a "accurate" look,I know it's not 100% accurate, but it permits a nice look with fully functionnal parts.

I drilled,and enlarged internal shape for a 1" blade,and made the 16 holes,finally I made a aluminum blade plug with a "cone" look,and a blade retainer using a small bolt:

I still have to make the led holder.

I have to make the patina on brass, emitter, and make final assembly, photos soon...

I will meet oneof the owners on sunday,he will put the electronics inside, and we will meet again at the SW show near my home.
Looking forward to take shots of sabers, costumes, and light on!
