ANH Hero Trooper Helmet (warning 20 pics)

I've just finished this hero helmet. I got it in untrimmed kit form from Troopermaster. The helmet is white ABS plastic which i buffed up a bit to give it a bit more of a shine.

I have trimmed, assembled and detailed it to match the promo hero helmet.

All markings are hand painted. The tube stripes are airbrushed on. The only changes i made to the helmet parts was a bit of sharpening of the frown to match the real one better. I used my own lenses and mic tips. (i don't have anymore lenses before anyone asks).

Painting the markings on a trooper helmet is quite easy, but when you are trying to match them to a real helmet, it can be a pain. Getting the tube stripes to start in the right place, end in the right place, have the correct number of stripes with correct spacing and shapes takes time! Same with the traps and tears.

I'm really happy with this helmet. If i ever do another one, i'll match the real promo helmet 100% with all the scratches, glue marks and pitting.

Anyway, onto the pics:

Thats looks awesome Keith, very nicely done :love

Is this 1 of paul's acrylic cappes abs helmets? I was just wondering coz they dont need any more buffing, they are shiny as :thumbsup

Hey that looks great! Nice job...I like how you chipped the paint on the painted areas too. I recently helped a friend put one of these together, so I know what a project this helmet is. I hate to bring this up, but your right ear cap is off....it needs to cover up the seam of the helmet entirely. I remember what a pain in the butt that was. ;) Good luck

Thanks!

This helmet is not acrylic capped, it was just normal white ABS.

The seam showing behind the right ear is correct to the promo helmet. I had to make sure that was showing.

Some photos on the mannequin.
I don't know why the tube stripes look so light, they're dark blue in person.

Amazing Keith. Good to see some weathering to the painted areas unlike any other replica Hero helmet I have seen.

Joe

Really Nice work Keith, both you and Firebladjedi have done great jobs with the TM Hero.

I think the finish on the non-capped ABS is just right. Not too glossy. LMK if its okay to add a couple of pics to my site.

I would be interested in seeing some pics from side-on 90 degrees - as on all the Hero helmets Ive seen (of any type) that always seems to be the hardest angle to perfect.
Cheers

Jez

Nice one Keith, yet another amazing build up from the master, you must have atleast 20 trooper lids by now!

Thanks guys!

Joe, yeah, most people don't weather the painted areas. I can understand why and the real helmets would have been scratch free at some point. I would really like to build another one of these helmets and weather, scratch and drill pits in the correct areas.

Jez, sure, you can use as many photos as you like. If you need the ful size files, just let me know which ones you want and i will send them to you.

Paul, i only have 8 trooper helmets, BUT, i have reached a stage were i have no more helmets i would sell, as i am happy with the accuracy of what i'm left with.
