ANH Escape Pod Build

Greetings,
Started building the pod some time ago and just recently started getting back into building it. Mostly plating and laying out the different areas and iding parts (some of which is quite tricky). I ran out of sheets of plastic so this is where i currently am with this project.
I am going to attempt to cast the saturn v engine bells and some of the smaller 8 rad parts and hope that i can eventually get my hands on some sealab and 1/25 panther casts.
I do have a question: from which AMT 1/25 Semi truck does the (3) truck frames (located on the sides of the pod) come from? Is it the Diamond Reo??? I have searched for kitscans but have not located any.
Thanks for looking!

Nice start. Love to have a stab at this in styrene, the resin one is just awful tat sadly. Hows your ATST coming on? Love an update on that too.

This is the truck frame I was referring too. Its not the Titan or Tanker, and i was assuming it was the Diamond Reo but didnt have kitscans to prove it.... Anyone have this kit and can take a look for me? I would appreciate it.

Ralphee - Updated my ATST thread for ya.

Thanks!

That's narrower than the 1/35 panzer tracks (and I assume that's a 1/35 sherman bogie). Kind of small for a truck frame maybe. Unless it's 1/76 or 1/72. Just a thought.

Definitely an AMT truck frame - and just a small portion of one at that.
Don't have my references handy to make an ID right now.
Road Boss, Astro/Titan and Kenworth are the usual suspects.

It's from the M36 Jackson, which also donates some key parts on the engine plate. You need two kits, without casting.

The Sherman gets cited a lot on the EP, but I haven't found any parts from it. I think it's the Jackson parts that cause that, as they're so similar.

You're right, it's not an entire frame, just the main rail from either side.

I have these suspects listed from various thread discussions:

Kenworth Mixer
Livestock Trailer
Kenworth Papa Malone Truck
AMT 1/25 Kenworth T600A

The T600A gets mentioned the most, but I haven't pinned it down. The Mixer has the angled oval cut-outs, but I couldn't confirm it from the pics I've seen. Not enough resolution to see the smaller details.

Note: To my knowledge, the Tamiya M10 Tank Destoryer also lends the same parts for the escape pod as the M36 Jackson (at least from what i have seen looking at kitscans).

Thanks for the link Ralphee i will check it out and see if i can hunt it down!
