Just kidding. ESB still gets my vote, although it's a close one for me between ESB and ROTJ.

I very much enjoy hearing people's reasonings for why they preferred one film's costume, or even one film's portrayal of the character over another.
Some very insightful and thought provoking posts. Good stuff.

OK, I'll vote for ESB since I haven't voted yet.

ANH looks more menacing and angry, but I've always liked the polished look of the ESB Vader and the character had more depth in ESB.

I vote TESB, if only for the sequence in the duel just after Luke provokes Vader with a lucky hit to his shoulder and Vader stops messing around.

As of two days ago, my ANH Vader is finally complete with the arrival of my ANH gloves.
It's hard to believe but it's true.
The only thing need to complete the entire display is to make some adjustments to the posable hands and attach them to the mannequins.

The ESB gloves should hopefully arrive by the end of next week so I'll be taking new pics of both and hopefully updating the ANH and ESB Vader SWP pages along with Maul, Yoda, and Emperor.

Going to get my jedi vader helmet painted hopefully sometime in june so he'll be done then as well.

Good shot but for some reason there seems to be lots of small blue specs on the pics? My monitor seems fine though. Weird.

It's the low lighting. Sometimes in low lighting my camera produces specks of color or dust looking specks.

Looking great m8. My bloomin camera does that too, its a pain in the backside.

ANH has to win the poll on best of the vaders, there used to be a time i was ESB all the way but nowadays the rest all look like rubies to me lol

Most of the time you can never tell us how you come by your information regarding Star Wars props and costumes. But, I have finally figured out how you are able to get or "score" access to original props and inimate information on Star Wars.


It hit me watching "Fan Boys" tonight.

You are buddies with good old William Shatner! And William Shatner says he can "Score" anything.:lol

Sorry, I forgot. My vote is for ESB Vader. My reasons are very similar to many that have been already posted.

I loved ANH Vader, as for many the tantive battle just sticks out, when Vader comes through the door. But, after seeing ESB, it bugged me that Tarkin could call Vader off from choking out Motti.

In ESB, Vader answered to no one, save the emperor. He issued punishments on officers as he saw fit. And had his own agenda to rule the galaxy. I believe if Vader, had his ESB attitude in ANH. Motti's body would have been cleaned up by some naval trooper. And Tarkin would not have said a word.

In appearance, ESB looked better with the surcoat under the shoulder armor. And the cod piece riding lower. Plus the chest box lights just add a more mechanical feel. ANH made me want to put a quarter in the slots.
