angel wings

Hi all;

I know D*C is just around the corner! (yay!) I'm already thinking about 2017's suits! LOL!!

I am in the planning & sourcing materials stages of building a costume that involves large angel wings. I have never done wings before and I have always wanted to give this a try. These particular wings are extremely large - with the longest feathers hitting 4-5 feet long, they need to almost trail behind me.

I have a few questions, I was hoping maybe experienced people could help.

A) where could I find feathers that long? (not the "swishy" ostrich plume feathers, but nice, tight feathers)

B) recommendations on tutorials on how to make angel wings?

C) recommendations on harness attachments to wear them?

Hey, I am working on wings myself!

Here's what I found in regards to long wings,

This means if you took skewers, you could easily make 2-, 3-foot feathers any color you'd like.

As for a harness, maybe try suspenders? They're basically readily made and all you have to do is create a backing (like ply board or something) to glue wings onto and the suspenders. Good luck!

Ugh, I know just the guy to answer your questions but I can't remember what name he uses on here. On Starship Modeler it's Cydonia, if you're on there.
