Anakin Skywalker from ROTS (Episode III)

Hi, new to the RPF, but I've put together a couple costumes over the years. Going to start uploading photos I have, and I'll add more detailed photos later.

For starters, this is my completed Anakin Skywalker costume. All fabrics are true to the original. Leather epaulettes are hand made. All leather belt work was custom. Boots custom made by Caboots.

Looks good except for one thing. Anakin's outer tunic and tabards are very dark brown and not black.

Thanks for the feedback! I constructed this costume in 2005, and not only did I not know about this website, but there were very few reference websites to go by back then in general - I constructed the entire costume using less than 15 'master reference photos' at that time! I appreciate the compliment!

Thanks for the feedback, and I appreciate the compliment! The entire thing cost $1,116.88. I know, sad that I kept that much track! Well, let's say that's at least what I was willing to capture in a spreadsheet! Actual cost was probably between $1,100 and $1,500, back in 2005.

Thanks for the compliment! I spent a lot of time researching the details on this piece. But mainly, I was extremely lucky to find a master leather craftsman and have been working with her ever since!

The color of these two items is something I debated back and forth quite a bit when I was constructing the costume 5 years ago. Good, high quality, reference photos seemed far more scarce back then. I agree that the color is definitely brown and now my son is nagging me to 'change it'! Ha! Here is the primary reference photo I used back then.

No problem! Darth Maul was the best thing that came out of that trilogy, and they chopped him in half, so meh .... Well, I guess the fight between Jango and Obi-Wan was also pretty awesome, but Jango died a ***** death in the end.

Every time they do something right, they have to muck it up.

Ahh, I see. I guess it's an easy mistake to make considering most of the promo shots are dark, but that one you posted definitely looks black, which is strange. Being in the 501st I see a lot of people selling their "old" inaccurate black parts in favor for the brown stuff so they can be approved. It's a common mistake.

And yeah, that's my armor. It's alright. I'm actually going to be upgrading it with a better version (troopermaster) pretty soon, so that one'll become a Sandtrooper. Thanks for the compliment though.
