Amazon's The Expanse

So, I am currently watching this season. What is the deal with the sub titles? Anytime something 'written' is on the screen I get these sub titles in some language I am not familiar with. Any way to get rid of these? I can't seem to figure it out.

You must have accidentally turned the subtitles on or maybe it was automatic if you're using a VPN? Regardless, to turn off subtitles you need to go into the menu when the video is playing, the one that brings up the X-Ray and scrolling options. Going up or down (forget which) in that menu should bring up the language and subtitles options.

I don't really care about gender bending if, and only if, they are going after the best available actor with no agenda behind it but they never do. It's always an agenda to blame. So long as Hollywood is wandering around with a checklist and not just making the best shows they can, they're in trouble.
 
The series finale is live to stream now and I'm REALLY sad to see the show go.

I keep hoping we'll get news of some sort of continuation in the coming days. They spent a not-insignificant amount of time laying groundwork for future stories, so I'm holding out hope.
 
Finale? I still feel like the season is just getting started. :(

To you who have read the books: Has the story in the show diverged from the books in any way other than not having Alex?

The major beats are there. Honestly, I'm a little surprised at how much they were able to keep intact despite things like losing Alex.

Maybe I'm wrong, and I'll have to go check, but I certainly don't remember ALL of those names being Easter eggs in those shots - and I was definitely reading them as I was watching.

I do. I actually paused the episode a couple of times to see them once I recognized Hicks and Hudson. This is just the showrunners and writers wearing their geek hearts on their collective sleeve. Most of them are characters from scifi, but some of them are scientists whose work influenced the show.

Well... I guess I must have been looking at the less obvious scientist's names :lol:

Yikes. One or two Easter eggs is fine, but that's a bit cringey. That screencap literally looks like someone has played around with Photoshop.

Yeah watching it now and literally paused the screen…took me right out of the story and made me think…wait, Vasquez, Hudson and Hicks, they are still alive!!! Full lineup at 26:06, thank you Kara Thrace, Sara Connor, ‘Johnny’ Rico, Rick Deckard, Etc, etc, etc! Back to the program
