Amazing 1/16 P-51D Mustang build!

The museum where all his stuff, including the Mustang, is here in the town where I live. I've seen all of them in person and they are truly the most detailed models I've ever seen!! Literally down to every rivet and screw that's on the real plane was machined by this guy!! When the propeller is turned even the pistons and crankshaft move, everything is fully functional and moveable, the control stick in the cockpit moves all the rudders just like the real thing! It's passion at its purest on an almost insane level!!!

And a VW Thing owner but those models are incredible, I'd love a DVD of his process! Where is the musuem located?

The museum is in Vista, Calif. and the museum is part of the company that makes the small milling machines he uses, I forget the name so I'll have to get back with that info unless somebody else here can come up with the name.

There are a number of custom builders who specialize in hand crafting all metal models of primarily WWII aircraft, but this builder is one of the best of the bunch.

Another modeler out of South America has done quite a few of these as well, including a bang up B-17G. I'll attempt to find the link and post it.

Mr. Young does great work, I'm remember seeing his Corsairs in the old issues of FSM. The man is a true artist with metal work.
