Am I the only one already wanting another Spider-Man reboot? (Spoilers)

Okay, before anyone says anything, let me explain myself...
First of all, I'd like to say that I personally loved the Amazing Spider-Man 2. I know a lot of people who hated it, and it didn't make any sense why someone would hate it... if anything, the only thing I can find wrong with it is that there wasn't enough character development for Harry/Green Goblin.

So, now onto my explanation.
Right now, I love where the Amazing Spider-Man series is going. I love the idea of a Sinister Six movie, I love the idea of a Venom movie, I love the idea of a Black Cat movie, and I love the idea of the Amazing Spider-Man 3. That being said, I really wish Disney would go ahead and buy out the Spider-Man movie privileges from Sony. I understand that Disney technically has the rights to the character, but that they can't make a Spider-Man movie.
What would honestly make me extremely happy is if right now, Disney decided to buy it out, and (I know, this is going to sound weird) If therefore the rest of the Amazing Spider-Man universe movies coming out were canceled.
Before everyone starts to look at me like I'm an idiot, hear me out. We need an actual Spider-Man movie... I'm not talking about Raimi or Webb's "build up movies", I'm talking about a Spider Man movie that has NOTHING to do with his origins and could potentially stand alone ( Meaning it wouldn't need a sequel. Although, as we all know, if it makes money, it won't be a "stand alone" film under Disney's control). I'm talking a Spider-Man movie in the middle of his career. He's been Spider-Man since he was about 15-16 (could be explained in the beginning of the movie) and now he's out, still dating Mary Jane, and he's extremely confident in his Spider Man career. He could be in his Junior or Sophomore year of college, and he could be much more of a confident (almost stuck up, but in a funny way) Spider-Man. I'd love to see a much more stylized and darker New York at night time, basing a lot of the art style of the movie after none other than Todd Mcfarlane's Spider-Man. It could have a villain in it like Hobgoblin or someone like that. Heck, if they wanted to, they could even have him pick up the symbiote near 3/4 through the movie and have him defeat whatever villain they choose using the symbiote as a weapon then that would set up the path for a Venom movie (opening with Spider Man having to tear the symbiote off of him.)
Now, the main reason though that I would like to see him rebooted under Disney's control is so he can be in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). In the MCU, we have characters like Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America, and heck even the Guardians of the Galaxy. And, although those are all AWESOME characters, they aren't as iconic as Spider-Man is for Marvel, and so I find it very depressing to see that Spider-Man isn't actually part of their universe where he should be. And so, by rebooting Spider-Man under Disney's control, that would allow Disney control of ALL of these potentially awesome things...
  • Spider-Man stand alone film
  • Venom movie
  • Black Cat movie
  • Sinister Six movie
  • Putting Spider-Man in OTHER Marvel movies and allowing him to be an Avenger
Yeah, I know, it'll never happen.. but, just a cool thought I wanted to share to see what you guys thought.

Fridging it's best characters just to get Parker emo for only 10 minutes?
Well, I personally had no problem with Gwen being killed off or how shortly it showed sad Peter... what I did have an issue with was that the Green Goblin wasnt developed enough to necessarily kill Gwen.

I don't know Rinz. I just don't know. I think Spiderman had his chance. Why not shoot for Spidergirl or Spiderwoman? At least with Spidergirl you can still involve Peter Parker.

Maybe both together? I wouldn't mind that... Maybe Ben Reilly and Peter Parker in a movie together? Now THAT would be something!

Right now I wouldn't watch any Marvel character in the theater that isn't from Disney/Marvel Studios.

Well the thing is everything they do is SO GREAT. That's why I would love to see their most iconic character being in their actual official universe.
That said, Days of Future Past was also fantastic, and I can understand why a Deadpool movie also can't be associated with Disney/Marvel studios...

Rights or no rights. If it's not from Marvel Studios then it's as legitimate as fan fiction as far as I'm concerned.

Well, now that's not necessarily true, because it is still Marvel, it's just the section of Marvel owned by Fox and Sony, not by Disney. It's TOTALLY Marvel, it just isn't Disney Marvel.
It's legit, but I just kinda consider it almost a different universe (which I think is exactly what it is, I could be wrong though).

The only reason I would want it to be rebooted is because I still don't think we have gotten the definitive Green Goblin yet. Please, no Hobgoblins, no symbiotes, no Spider-man on a team of any sort.

The Spider-Man I like is the original Ditko-Lee version. I think Rami hit it pretty close to the mark... especially with the casting.
Tobey had Parker as a pathetic geek nailed. Maybe not so much the look but the sensibility. The new guy is just too pretty.
Rosmary Harris as Aunt May looked just like a Ditko character with the high, perfectly round cheekbones. She had a palpable delicacy. Sally Field? ... no. Not Norma Rae. Sally's humility feels almost self-consciously calculated than organic.
Cliff Robertson was perfect as uncle Ben. Martin Sheen is Capt. Willard. He's just too inherently menacing and enigmatic to play the part.
Kirsten ... wasn't perfect as Mary Jane. I guess she was supposed to be a Mary/Gwen hybrid.

I would only like to see that and see how they could move forward to translate something in the Marvel universe of the Avengers' coexistence.

I don't think anyone would be opposed to seeing the webslinger alongside Hulk or any of those guys. Though he's not an Avenger, he is one of the biggest characters in the Marvel universe people love and it's sad that he's been minimized in the film world to solo films due to movie rights. He has so much potential of being a part of more ad that's what saddens me is you got all these great Marvel characters segregated in the movie world (X-Men, Spider-Man, Fantastic 4, Avengers) and they'll never be together (well X-Men and F4 could). In the case of Spider-Man he is reduced to city problems. Then you got The Avengers which is worldwide problems. Realms colliding, bigger picture things that Spider-Man can't be a part of. All because of movie rights.

They all belong together. I REALLY would love to see Spider-Man surrendered to Marvel/Disney.

See, I thought he was an Avenger (at least at one time).
I like Spider-Man's city problems, because the villains are always my favorites when it comes to Spider-Man, but I still feel like the Spider Man wouldn't be opposed to communicating with Tony Stark every now and then, or giving Captain America a helping hand if he needs one, or something like that. One of my all time favorite comics is "Deadpool Suicide Kings" which features Deadpool, Spider-man, and Daredevil all together fighting along side each other to help Deadpool with one of his villains that he's going after (which actually is Tombstone, one of Spider-Man's villains). And, after reading that comic, I really wanted to see Spidey in a movie with OTHER heroes... it's just such a waste to not use him, when he works so well with them!

im still waiting for a good spider-man movie.
the people in charge (im looking at you arad) should have this franchise taken away from them. how can this group **** up another series after crashing and burning the first trilogy.

Well, I'll be honest. Spider-Man was good... Spider-Man 2 was great. Spider-Man 3 was a terrible movie. The Amazing Spider-Man was decent, not bad but not great. The Amazing Spider-Man (although, arguably a mess) was great in my opinion... it couldn't decide on what it wanted it's plot to be, but I'm okay with that when it comes to a movie, while sometimes people aren't so fond of that.
I hope hope HOPE that Sony doesn't screw up the series by making the newer movies suck. If they're anything like TASM2 I'll be happy, but I don't know what a black cat movie is going to be like. Sinister Six and Venom sounds great, and it doesn't seem like there's any way to screw that up, but Black Cat... I hope they don't try to make it just a sexy "look me at prancing around in tights and fighting people because it turns men on" type movie like Catwoman... Don't get me wrong, I think Felicity Jones is extremely attractive (even more so then Emma Stone) but if I'm seeing a movie, I'm seeing it because I want a good story with good characters... having a beautiful female in it is just a plus. One thing that I find stupid in Superhero films is when the female characters are just there to look pretty, but not really add anything to the story, it just ruins that character, and I'd hate to see that be done to anyone in the Spider-Man universe.

I still haven't seen ASM2. I lost all interest when they started chucking bad guys into the plot. And that Harry becomes the Green Goblin. It didn't sit well with me so I declined to see it.
I so want Disney/Marvel to have this character back. I honestly don't see the financial incentive to make a standalone Sinister Six movie....or a Black Cat movie (remember Halle Berry's Catwoman? Yeah, me neither!)
Sony dropped the ball with SM3...and they've done it again. I completely agree with the comment above, if it's not from Marvel Films, it's as good a fan fiction.

I too would love for Marvel to get Spidey back, but damn I don't want to sit through another origin story. So even if they did get it back, let's not reboot. Let's just move on. No matter what suit, no matter what actor, no matter what director--just take it and go. He is already Spider-man, you can decide for yourself whether you want the Raimi or Webb version as the earlier adventures, Or even both! Pick and choose what you will, but for the rest, let's just move forward.

Actually a lot of people remember Holle Bery's Catwoman which is why we haven't seen and most likely will never see a female driven DC super hero movie. And it's all entirely for the wrong reasons. If you look at Catwoman and compare it to all the other depictions of Catwoman from the comics, movies and TV shows, you will find that Berry's Catwoman is more along the lines of how Tim Burton treated the character rather than the Catwoman from all the other previous depictions. I'd say that her depiction in The Dark Knight Rises was an overall improvement, but they gave her nothing to do.

Better idea, don't even go with the Raimi or Webb version as a backstory... just make a Spider-Man film in the middle of his career....
