Hey, here's one of my projects I have in the works for my personal collection with the help from my brother. I reached out to a few people that offer the castings of the hunter knives from Destiny but didn't receive a reply about using a silhouette of their work to get the basic shape of my knife (which I understand). So in the end we just winged it and freehanded it. We ended up using the reference pics from Bungie.net, Which I'm guessing most people did because it's turned out pretty close, woohoo!
My brother (who builds armor plated doors for battleships, no joke) took the plans and cleaned them up dramatically and went to work and cut the basic silhouette on a bandsaw. Then I went to town cleaning up the edges so that I wouldn't get cut up working on it. So far I've got the finger and blade holes drilled and have started to shape the grip (which is going to take a while) with a dremel and various sandpaper grits.
I have a table grinder which I will be buying in the next few days and then I will be able to get this done much faster!
I'll be using gutting flat paracord to wrap the handle and aging the aluminum chemically to get the desired finish. also I plan on getting the details etched into the metal.

If this turns out decent, we plan on making a steel version that will actually hold an edge for real world use!
