Asalaw, thank you - my use of the word "invoice" was incorrect. An "invoice" is what Wah would have sent to Desilu for payment. ("Remittance Advice" is even written by the document number.) (1)

BTW - the Desilu Productions Inc., Remittance Advice for Wah's "reworking [of the] phasers" was number: 43977 and was paid 25Sep1966.
Wah's Vendor number was: 0407.
Wah submitted invoice number: 7761 on 22Aug1966.
He received $520.00.

And apparently Wah charged Desilu $1,019.20 for "designing and making two practical and eight dummy communicators". (2)

(2) Ibid 1, page 239
Yeah that makes more sense.

Also, who is this guy? Have we talked about him, before?
The Drop Box page of his "Trek World submission" link on his Youtube page lists: "J_ _ P_ _ _ _".
A search on the Internet ("J_ _ P_ _ _ _ Star Trek") yielded only one link: a member of the "The Trek BBS" who joined May 3rd of this year and has only one post.

I have not watched any of his other 26 videos on Youtube. Each video is fairly short - the longest is 35 min and the shortest 0.15 sec.

I find it interesting that his oldest two videos are a year old. When did this (fraudulent phaser) thread start? Hmmm...

Perhaps it is time I posted a video about "Practical Phasers" on Youtube with screen grabs of the 4 B&W Hero Phasers made by the Desilu Studios Props Department before July 1966? And screen grabs of what the original 4 B&W Hero P2s looked like after Wah Ming Chang "reworked them"...

Just for historical purposes because as Gregatron stated - its important!

As I speculated (in post 1774), it sounds exactly like Jon Paul. He sells a bunch of stuff on eBay and has burned many bridges. I would never do business with him nor pay any attention to his assertations. I suspected he was involved in the fraud phaser when it first appeared as it looked to have his nozzle and other parts on it.

Last paragraph in Gregatron’s post #161

I made a detailed comment on his Wah Chang video with a link to this thread, it was deleted within 10 minutes.
That happens automatically when you post a link in a YT comment.
Not that this guy wouldn't have done so himself, mind you.

Awesome.

Will the Cabal be a secret society like Skull and Bones, complete with secret handshakes, grand conspiracies, nicknames, embarrassing rituals, secret symbols, etc.?

When I first joined the TPZ back in the early 2000s there were a number of posts about fake screen used phasers made and sold by one person to museums and at auctions. Since I was not interested in outrageously priced auction pieces and was not on a mission, I paid little attention to it.

However I do recall several members stated the notorious "Mark English" was not one person - hence the reason I wrote "cabal" in my earlier post...

I do not claim to have any first or second hand knowledge of "Mark English" or his counterfeit phasers.

[Reference TPZ Post # 543, in which [Mark] English was indirectly referenced]

There’s also this, from a few years ago, which seems to be one of several attempts by various parties to take advantage of Ms. Nichols and her deteriorating health by using her to push various scams. The props show the same build style and weathering.

The auction phaser seems to be the tip of the iceberg, and merely the most prominent attempt to pass off replicas as originals.

I notice they claimed a photo match for the "Cloud Minders" / MoPOP one. Do I assume correctly that there's no publicly-known basis for this?

Michael Myers it is then.

I think someone needs to make an accurate post, because eventually the truth will be "given up" under the pressure of those who stand to profit from the lies.

Maybe reporting the post to YouTube as spreading fraudulent information? I'm not sure of their policies, but they tent to delete a lot of stuff for no apparent reason...

Perhaps "litigation" is the answer... any attorneys on here care to draft a letter?

As it becomes increasingly politicized, YouTube seems more than eager to strike down videos and channels for "spreading misinformation". So, of course, they'd probably let this misinformation sail by free and clear, regardless of any complaints.
