It's amazing just how many people have irrefutable proof, documentation, names of those who inspected the phaser, etc, yet just aren't able to share any of that information with us. How strange. And also, how condescending. I mean, if one truely has proof, but knows they are unable to share it, then why bring it up in the first place? What purpose does that serve? None, other than to stroke their own ego.
So I call B.S. on all these "I have secret information about the phaser" shenanigans. Unsharable proof is having no proof at all.
So... get to work refuting my friend! Refute!!!
Show us the documents and we will get right on it.So... get to work refuting my friend! Refute!!!
You’re probably receiving an extra level of flack because your posts are following a familiar pattern: A reasonably well known member of the community comes in pretty hot claiming that the props are legit. Their “proof” is the word of of experts that they know personally, but who’s name they won’t share (other than GJ). They won’t or can’t share any details about any of the particulars that led to the experts conclusions. Herocomm makes a similar claim, really.YOU...YOU Referred to ANYONE thinking this prop was the real thing as a SUCKER. And that would include the Experts who authenticated it Greg Jein, Heritage House AND HEROCOMM.COM.
I called you on it and you thought your pals here would prop your Hurt Butt.
You messed with the wrong guy my friend.
I've been a member here since 2001. NEVER once had any problems. And I don't know the guy you hate from Adam. For the most part I have better sense than to get involved in threads like this...The only reason Im back in this tread is because my pal Donn. You’re probably receiving an extra level of flack because your posts are following a familiar pattern: A reasonably well known member of the community comes in pretty hot claiming that the props are legit. Well, that’s the consistent “proof”. Other claims have included theories about Wah’s behavior that contradict the LOAs, undocumented 5th & 6th heroes & “proof” that these are repaired forms of one of the 4 known heroes.
Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire...Normally I do, as anyone who knows me will attest. But don't bring me in and start talking trash about me and expect me not to respond.Yeah, dude, do you really want to be lumped in with Shanko, of all people? C’mon. Take the high road.
Not RonShanko, think earlier in this debacle. Much earlier...like page one.Yeah, dude, do you really want to be lumped in with Shanko, of all people? C’mon. Take the high road.

I hope that’s not true. I’m pretty sure most of us want it to be real… I do. Evidence — all I’m asking for is evidence. Nothing extraordinary.I didn't sell it.
I didn't buy it.
And don't care if it's real or not.
Highest regards.
The three foot Enterprise? The TOS Romulan bird of prey?Man, what a day. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?
All valid questions. Love to hear some valid answers instead of endless posturing, threats, and sabre-rattling.It's amazing just how many people have irrefutable proof, documentation, names of those who inspected the phaser, etc, yet just aren't able to share any of that information with us. So The Phaser...
Here's what I can share.
There is irrefutable documentation that was provided to serious buyers only By HA.
Thanks! It's been fun!
I LOVE the RPF! And I am glad to be here. Best of luck to all...whatever side of the fence your on!
Well, that is not true at all!So The Phaser...

To clarify: I'm not the one that raised anything about, "people hiding behind fake names on the RPF claiming to be experts" on said prop. And I couldn't agree more: I'm here to discuss the thing- because I detest art forgeries. Can you please take this Facebook b*llsh*t BACK to Facebook and leave this thread to discussions about the phaser. I have no desire to read page after page about your petty argument.
The auction world can be a strange place, and when you're talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars or more changing hands, there are a lot of opportunities for those with... flexible morals. Buyers, sellers, brokers, auction houses, authenticators, you name it, some have succumbed to temptation. Sometimes knowingly and fraudulently, and sometimes because people choose not look too hard, because of greed or reputation. It's amazing what people will do with their pride on the line.I’m not a particularly conspiratorial type, but I’m beginning to wonder who this auction was for. I made reasonable requests for information from HA and was not given anything like the information you claim the winning bidder received. How were they able to get such information? I was never given the opportunity to get that information.
Maybe it was, but it sure wasn’t shared with me when I made reasonable requests. I was told by HA:Well, that is not true at all!
About the fact you that only four hero phasers were documented I was told:This Type-2 not only was authenticated by top Original Series prop guru Greg Jein, but it has also been endorsed by respected Original Series prop website HeroComm.com
That document, drafted at the very beginning of the series, is by no means gospel. Greg Jein discussed this with both Wah Chang and special effects man Jim Rugg and he states that there were at least six or more heroes that were made during the production run.
Believe it or not, I’m pretty familiar with this world for a slightly different market. What’s unusual in this case, is the reluctance to share basic information like the credentials of the experts. Generally, you want respected experts in more than one relevant field. Fooling multiple disciplines very difficult. At lest that’s the conventional wisdom…The auction world can be a strange place, and when you're talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars or more changing hands, there are a lot of opportunities for those with... flexible morals. I don't know which is worse, frankly.
The kicker of it is, in that world, people live and profit by their reputation. Sometimes, that reputation opens doors, sometimes it slams them shut. The right name or reputation will get you more information, perhaps. Having the right friends helps as well. And, of course, there is always the possibility that someone is full of crap. It's amazing what people will make up just so they can pretend to be "in the know".
I don't have enough information to be comfortable accusing anyone of anything, and even if I did, I'd be very, very careful in doing so. Ruining someone's reputation with a false accusation can have some pretty long term consequences. Livelihoods can be ruined in a snap. I've seen it happen.
While it's fun to speculate on the drama and excitement of all this, I think it's better to focus on what few facts are out there, and avoid some of the interpersonal drama. We're all here to gather facts, expand our knowledge, and form opinions. Your opinion is different then mine? Cool. Why? Back it up. Schoolyard drama doesn't help, and makes us all look bad.
