All things mass effect thread. Possible Spoilers.

I didn't see anything like this already and seeing as how ME3 is on the way i'd start one. I recently started yet another play through of ME1 so i can get all the achievements and have 1 more after this. I wanted to have a game saved for each moral option so i can go through ME2 again. Has any gone on the wiki and read the Cerberus News? I didn't keep up with it on the game but they have nearly all of them archived. There is one installment that is an homage to the Chris Reeve Superman as they find a child sent from his world where crystals are used for stuff and he breathes an oxygen/Krypton mixture.

lol. I always passed the first one up thinking it wasn't going to be good then i randomly bought it as a special edition at kmart for 20.00 and loved it. Paid alot more for DS2 though at the flea market last year. Anyone try ME Universe for the ipod?

Re: All things mass effect thread.

I enjoyed both games. Only reason I played them was because my brother has a 360 also so we swap games a lot when we get bored of them. Apparently the ps3 version of me2 they changed the storyline or start of the game somehow to explain the absence of the first game as it's not available on the playstation.

Re: All things mass effect thread.

I heard it got reworked but I thought it was just improved graphics. I wonder if that means ME3 will be different for the 2 systems. I hope to finally see Tali's face. I have 1 more playthru to do for ME 1 as a biotic as the achievements for the higher difficulties isn't very big on my list lol. Then the playthrus for 2. I want to see if there is an alternate choice in the new DLC when you get that choice to shoot or not. I'm keeping in vague in case nobody's played it yet lol.

I'm not sure hey I think they kind of had to change it somehow especially since the playstation can't get it.

Although crysis 2 was multi-platform whereas the first one was PC only I was hella confused going through that game.

Hopefully 3 comes out soon. I'm pretty sure the new Duke Nukem won't keep me occupied forever lol.

Alright spoke to my brother and with me2 for ps3 they have a little pilot before you start the game and you make the choices you would in the first to explain it.

Re: All things mass effect thread.

Bwahahahaha! Doubt it.

I'm playing the PS3 version of 2 right now. It's got occasional glitches, the chara design is obviously a few years old, in general the graphics don't exactly push the platform's abilities...but it's a nice game.

It's engaging. Characters are likeable. It's got a largeish, B5-ish universe that's well thought out and (so far) intelligently designed, with a lot of realism and a lack of jarring scientific errors.

What don't you like about it?

I guess you didn't get the joke. It was a reference to a joke from House, MD. Just trying to get a laugh. I haven't played the game. Only saw a video of some guy using a vehicle to run over some creatures from it.

After playing Dragon Age II, I've got to say, I fear for Mass Effect 3. I really do. The story driving mechanic that Bioware used for DAII was just atrocious. I'm looking at all of these websides and press releases on how Dragon Age was going to be unique compared to every other game in Bioware's library, but it didn't amount to anything. For instance, the "story spanning a whole decade" feature.

1. None of the characters show any visible signs that they've aged or even changed the way they look.
2. All the districts look exactly the same. From the first day to the last, The shops are still open and being run the same keepers, the poor beggers occupy the same corners and the areas that should show change like the Quanari area are just closed off.
3. A lot of the 3 year transitions that occur in this game can easily occur over night. After the Deep Roads expidition, you can simply buy back your estate and start there. After the Quanari invasion, you're crowned champion and the next day can be the exact same as what happens in the next three years.

And what makes things worse is the way choices are played out. My first play through, Anders destroys a church. I get angry and kill him for doing that. Second play through, I tell Anders to beat it and never come back. When we get to the same point in the story line, HE COMES BACK and does the same gawddang thing, thus making the decision to kick him out entirely pointless. I hope the choices we make for Shepard in ME3 actually have an effect on the story.

I wish companies would stick with what works. The system in ME1 and 2 worked fine for me. Every time companies fiddle with stuff it rarely is for the best even if they mean well.

One thing that has me concerned about how they said ME3 will start is that Cerberus is trying to kill you. From what we know about The Illusive Man, that doesn't make any sense. You've got a man who is supposedly infinitely patient in his goals, yet he gets so ticked that he will kill humanity's last hope before he stops the Reaper invasion? It doesn't fit with the character. The way he was done in ME2, he would let Shepard stop the Reapers, THEN kill him. They have the same writer so hopefully it will work. Did DA change writers or have new people on the second game?

I'm also concerned that they have someone new doing the music.

I think they have some big wig doing the music. That trailer very well might not even start off the game or maybe the Illusive Man has had something happen with indoctrination. These game trailers are a bit sketchy at times.

Has anyone seen the ME action figures by chance? Amazon was supposed to get them in like October of last year but they went from preorder to unavailable.

Not the trailer the info here (mini spoilers!!!): News: Mass Effect 3: First details - ComputerAndVideoGames.com

I wasn't questioning his talent, just whether his style fits with the other two games.

Maybe during the trial Shep testifies about Cerberus and spills the beans. I'm sure they came up with a good reason for it. I didn't think the trial was going to be that big a part of things, i just figured it would show up at the end and either your past behaviors spare you or you get the chair.
