All new X-men Cyclops: Costume Research

Well after a lot of thinking I'm going to do a Cyclops build for one of my 3 costumes next years NYCC. What I'm curious about is some input as to how others see this costume.

I'm also curious how would you think one would go about making that head cover? That is the only thing that is perplexing me at the moment.

You would probably have to get some EL sheet for the glowing X. Maybe sew it into the hood somehow. Also the tricky part would be positioning it close enough to your eyes but allowing you to see around it somehow, maybe with thin black cloth you can see through.
