ALIENS Pulse rifle Thompson parts - options?

I'm parts and info gathering to put together a PR replica. Already have a (pretty basic) resin & vac formed kit but have some better quality parts on the way and some metal upgrades planned.

Anyway, my question concerns the upper and lower visible Thompson parts, highlighted in this pic:

Aside from getting an airsoft (my searches haven't uncovered anything remotely accurate here in the UK) or deactivated Thompson (not looking to invest that heavily at this time), what are my options?

I have resin versions of these parts already, but to be honest they aren't brilliant casts and are lacking some detail. Is there a source for nice clean accurate casts of just these parts, without buying full kit? Or am I overlooking a better reasonably priced option?

I'm still getting my head around this prop and learning as I go, so any input would be appreciated.

Having just re-built a completely screwy PR kit, myself, I'd suggest just working on making the parts you have, more accurate.

You could just sharpen up the existing details and use styrene to add, repair or rebuild the missing detail.

My kit had soft details and some were pitted with air bubbles. So, some sandpaper, jewelers files, and styrene bits, and she's good as new.

Thanks Fred. Yeah that might be the route I'll have to take. I was hoping for the path of least resistance. I have several projects on the go at once right now. You'd think that these parts would be fairly easy to track down, given the popularity of pulse rifle props.

Use an all metal ( if you want ) air-soft m1a1 thompson smg will work just fine I think I have a couple old 870 bolts laying around its the spas handgaurd thats hard to find if someone wants to send me one I will make a mould then return your part with a free cast. And where do you get a good resin kit .
Thanks Jerry

In response to that last question, I've got a Spatcave kit on the way and the pictures look great.

Spatcave resin PR kit ,and the ones that Matsuo does are top of the line resin kits , I recently just bought me a Spas 12 cage (rare) and getting expensive to buy now, as far as the top receiver for a thompson M1A1 ,the best route to take is airsoft, Now ,as far as the real thompson lower receiver cost me 500.00 with all the internal parts , very expensive, wouldnt suggest it ,unless you plan on doing an all metal Hero version, my first hero version cost 2300.00 to build and now my 2nd hero version will be about the same..... if you go with resin kits for some metal parts ,I would suggest contacting Matsuo, his kits can take metal parts ,all resin kit with no metal parts ,Spatcave pulse rifles......just a suggestion to point you in the right direction ,however you want to go with it,just trying to give info to help.........

I have a couple of thompson casts from the old MIM kits. They need a little clean up but the inerds of the upper were molded from a real thompson and the bolt/ trigger work like the original.
I would need to dig them out though, they are buried in the garage somewhere.
