Hi all!
My buddy and I are doing a show as oart of the Hollywood Fringe Festival called "Alien vs. Musical." For the last several years, I've been building hand puppets for TV and film in the "glove and rod" style popularized by the Muppets. In addition to co-writing the book for this musical, I built all of the creatures on a shoe-string budget in about two months. I know they're by no means screen accurate, but they look great on the stage and am really proud of the sheer volume of work I was able to do in so short a time and with only a budge to about $400.
Among the things I created for the show:
The Alien Egg:
The Chestburster:
The Xenomorph:
The Queen:
A robt hand:
A Power Loader:
and numerous other props, costumes and puppets. It's been a fun build, and I tried to keep an "MST3K" sensibility to everything.
If you're in the Hollywood area, please check out our show -- it runs throughout June at the Theatre Asylum.
