My SS Alien Queen bust and HCG Pulse Rifle. Really like the Pulse rifle and it has no droop at all. I still need to hang the B&W poster of Sigourney Weaver and the Alien Queen.

I also just got the HCG Alien head but I wasn't too thrilled with it.

What I meant is... is your prop based on a real Rexim-Favor or is based on a replica?

OOOPS, OK, sorry... No, mine isn't based on a real Rexim, it's one of Morgan13 kits with just one part upgraded by me : The lower scope.

Thanks for the links though, should have known to check on Propsummit, another goldmine of information. Again, compliments on the prop, personally I think it's the coolest looking sci-fi pistol! (and it didn't even have much screen time or seen in action)

I'm sure there's also a thread here on the RPF where you could find info on the Nostromo pistol... but, yes, since we mainly devote ourselves to Blade Runner and A L I E N on propsummit, it's always easier (at least to me) to look here for info related to these 2 films... and I totally agree with you, the Nostromo pistol is one of the coolest guns in movie history ! (with Deckard's Balster, of course)

:)

Fred

PS : Hello Div6, it's been a long time Sir !

:cool

Thanks Skin job. The guy certainly did a nice job with replicating that weapon.

Jedi Wars, are you not scared to knock down that pretty Queen's torso by having it so near to a door? I get the sweats just looking at it :lol

Sorry JediW but this is an A L I E N topic only, the place where you can share your Space Marines collection is here :

Door opened !

OOOOPS...

:confused :unsure :$ :lol

The original poster said "Alien and beyond" so I also guessed it could have been from any of the three... ehm four films.

Damn, you're bloody right !!!

:eek

Sorry JediW, forget what I said previously... (but Damn again, don't we A L I E N fans deserve a little topic only devoted to the first one from time to time ?)

:angel

There were only three...and a few really godawful fan films :angel

There were only #1 and #3 imho...

:angel

#2 is a first attempt to bring Starship Troopers to the big screen... and we totally agree on the rest ! (I personnaly HATE #4 !!!)

It's funny how Aliens has slipped down in my affections over the last few years, and how I've come to see 3 as a pretty damn good movie (only the extended print tho')

Aliens, while still a kick-ass action sci-fi movie hasn't really aged that well, imho.

I never liked the Queen, it looked godawful clumsy and overdesigned, and was at the heart of the problem I have with Cameron's take. He turned them into bugs. Horrific lethal ones, but still bugs.

Scott's original conception of a completeley self-reproducing nightmare with weird sexual connotations was far more frightening and mysterious. If he kept the cocoon sequence, I wonder how the rest of the movies would have panned out.

I guess Cameron would have just retconned it.

I totaly agree, must admit.

(never was a real fan of #2 though, even if I can understand a lot of people like it)

On the side of "bug hunt movies", I really prefer what Paul Verhoven did with Starship Troopers. He used the novel to say what he had to say about american society. More questionable, maybe... but more interesting and deep, too.

WOW, very cool !!!
:cool
it's the first time I see something like that... Do you have any idea where they were used in the sets ? The one on the right looks familiar... seen on the bridge, maybe ?

Fred

Skin Job,

The panels on the left in my photo were used all over the Gateway Station sets, and the type on the right appear in the Sulaco's hangar, and Hadley's Hope corridor (painted red).

.. They may be elsewhere too, I dunno I haven't looked for them for a while!

Actually they are double doors leading into the room and that one is latched on top so it never gets used. But yeah I do worry about the dog knocking her over :eek.

Sorry to take your Alien thread off track but when I think of Alien I think of the first 3 films (the 4th one pretty much sucked).

The 4th film was made by the guy who made 'City of lost Children' and 'Delicatessen' which I love. Sad that it didn't match up, but there is a lot of stuff in it I like. It just shows that the more Fox interferes with the film, the worse they come off. The 1st one is still the masterpiece IMHO. The rest were all decent works to some degree or another. All also directed by Oscar nominated Directors for their later films.

I have the white Tupperware mugs from the first film, and have a Rexim cast I am working on Converting to a Nostromo pistol.

Great thread guys.

Yes Andy, he directed City of the Lost Children (an awesome film, I love it too !!!), but he didn't made it alone... It was co-signed by his then co-director and art director Marc Caro, everybody seems to forget that nowadays... the dark, pre-WW1 industrial imagery came from him.

Then they split and Fox call Jeunet to direct Alien Resurrection... and then you realize that without Caro, Jeunet isn't that good. (excepted for Amelie maybe)

Caro later did his own "alien movie", it's called Dante 01. It's far from being perfect (the story ends, well... rather strangely) but the visuals are awesome, especially when you think it was made on a tight budget. (same kind of envelope as for Duncan Jones' Moon, iirc)

Another guy with my feelings, awesome. I too cant abide the Queen, it really is Antfarm time TBH. Hated the way it moved, and the spiny protrusions bug the poop outta me.
I LOVE the original creature, smooth lines, stealthy and lithe....the warriors in Cam's movie, just not hitting the mark either.
Have to say, Scott's depiction is just way more terrifying, you almost "feel" helpless watching it, and i love that.

Hello, could you please tell me the size of the left panel in the photo? I'd like to know if possible the height and width measured from the higher external edges (that sort of raised frame and not the entire mold) It should be about 92 cm width x 97 cm height (36,22 inches x 38,19 inches circa). Am I right? Thanks in advance

I don't really collect alien(s) stuff (much as I love it all) but have a couple vac formed wall panels. I've had these for years from when the moulds were still at Pinewood, although a couple have got a little crushed at the back of my garage..
