This is a 1:1 alien skull I started, based on the one seen in Predator 2, and from the Stan Winston books.

Beautiful work so far- keep it up!

The alien skull is such a great piece, I'm excited to see someone making a replica.

How many hours of work did it take to get it to its current level of completion?

Thanks- boy, hard to say- it's been one of those on again off again projects as time allows- if I'd worked on it straight through, probably around a month or so....

I did a T Rex skull a while ago- one of the pieces I'm working on now is a "museum" display of Kong's skeleton posed fighting a V-rex skeleton.
(P.S. this is artwork from Kong: King of Skull Island I'm using for reference.)

Sweet job.. I'd love on of these for the display, but misses would kill me and leave me, as it'll freak her out.. Had a raptor head display once, had to get rid of it as sh freaked out one night going to the bathroom.. :lol Awesome job mate..

Excellent work on the skull!

I remember after Predator 2 came out that you could get 1/2 scale resin kits of an alien skull that looked like the one in the movie - only at sci-fi conventions, though, before the days of the internet. Haven't seen them in years but it looked really well done. I think a Predator skull was also available at the time. Anyone remember these?

I never heard of those, unless you mean the skulls from Greyzon? Those are the only ones I've seen, but I think they were more like 1/3rd scale? Anyone have any info on the 1/2 scale?

I have one of those as well, but got mine from a guy on ebay. He described it as being carved out of bone, but when I received it there were obvious seam lines on it from casting, as well as distortion and bubbles from a bad casting job. When I contacted him about this, he insisted that it was out of bone, because he had mixed bone powder into the resin, which was never mentioned in the ad. I told him the only carving would be in taking out the massive seamlines. After about 2 weeks of back and forth, he finally relented and returned my money and paid for return shipping. Altogether a bad experience. BEWARE OF BUYING FROM THIS GUY ON EBAY!!!!
