ALIEN HELMET 3D PRINTED

I'm curious about a detail on your helmet. The neck bands (not sure what to call them) look more pronounced on yours. Is that lighting, or is there a version of the helmet that looks that way?

Your helmets are looking fantastic!

I thought I'd share my adventure:
I didn't have a casting of the head lamp to complete my helmet.
I tried printing out your head lamp file on my new Mono X. It's my first 3D printer and I'm just learning how to use it.
It printed pretty well, but I had some de-laminations on the last couple inches of the opening.

So I did a little chopping of the file, and just printed a new end piece to glue on.

It came out great, however I made a mistake with inches versus centimeters, so I had to print it again bigger.

Now I can graft it together!

So my work on this suit is done now...I wanted to get everything modelled and printable and actually build a helmet from scratch. Good luck to anyone wanting to make the full suit...I imagine the soft parts are just as intricate and fiddly.
Both the helmets and backpack are now sold but here's a few more pics of the classic helmet...I love it even more now than I did;

Just a little post script in the form of a cautionary tale...I sold these pieces to a prop collector in Switzerland. I sent them off, with PARCEL MONKEY, from the UK and they managed to LOSE the Bronze helmet! They failed to deliver the 2 remaining items and said they could either return them to me, for a fee, or dispose of them! They seemed confused that one was 'missing' and therefore could not complete the delivery. It has been months of remote emailing with many different customer service team members who have eventually agreed to refund the postage...no claim, or compensation, just a straight refund. 'Sorry for any inconvenience'
As a goodwill gesture I have made another helmet for the client. So, If you are sending stuff, PLEASE do not use PARCEL MONKEY!

Here's the new helmet...hopefully this one won't get lost of stolen;

That sucks, sorry you’ve had that experience. I’m always amazed at the attitude of shipping companies, given that their one job is to safely move items from A to B they are highly unwilling to offer any guarantee that they can actually do this.

Great news for the client that you were willing to build another one. That's what I call excellent customer service...:cool::cool:(y)(y)which is rare nowadays:( Thanks for the FYI about the company...yeah; monkeys alright:rolleyes:

Wanted to show off the tweaked model i made from the FANTASTIC GEEK1138 model... printed in resin in almost one piece. Printed through Coreilla Creations
