Alice in Wonderland... Change up. What was YOUR favorite scene?

Re: Alice in Wonderland... Saw it, Loved it, Gotta see it again

So...

On with the important stuff...

How was the new Tron trailer?
Great, especially in 3D!;) (even if the projectionist screwed the beginning showing us a black screen...:angry)

I saw the movie the 3rd (here in Italy was released the 3rd, don't ask me why...)
I loved it!:)
I'll see it again Sunday and I'll see it again in 2D as well and I hope quite soon too...:thumbsup

Re: Alice in Wonderland... Saw it, Loved it, Gotta see it again

Great to hear guys, and while it may seem that my post is OT... that is my only motivation for seeing this movie... esp in IMAX3D!

Reminds me of the old PRE-prequel days... before the dark times... before...

OK now ive fully went off topic...

carry on! :angel

Re: Alice in Wonderland... Saw it, Loved it, Gotta see it again

I'm sorry, but this pretty much sealed the deal for me that i am NOT finishing my Mad Hatter costume. The movie was mediocre at best. Visually it was amazing, but character-wise it was a big letdown.

meh, it was alright.

I felt the same way..It was a decent film, but I didnt think it was that great

Yeah, I felt the same way...The story seemed weak to me. Visually it was great, but story was it wasnt that great...The ending was pretty bad imho...

Plus, it was highly predictable.

And that is why you should never start working on a costume before seeing a movie/film/ whatever. Researching is fine, but starting to construct it is risky.

Have to agree. I dozed off several times during the movie.

Re: Alice in Wonderland... Saw it, Loved it, Gotta see it again

Because I saw a midnight showing I didn't end up staying until the end of the credits. Did I miss anything?

Re: Alice in Wonderland... Saw it, Loved it, Gotta see it again

The 3d stuff was good, very, very droll start, typical everyone fights at the end ending. If I didnt get a free showing, I wouldnt have paid to see it but then again, ive never been a Tim Burton fan (minus Mars Attacks).

Not too sure if it was just me or did some of the digital stuff look very jerky in movement?

Re: Alice in Wonderland... Saw it, Loved it, Gotta see it again

Yes, it was. Felt like I was watching the effects from Fred Clause . . ugh . . Design was spectacular though!! Nice to hear a good hear a good old style Elfman score!

Re: Alice in Wonderland... Saw it, Loved it, Gotta see it again

I think a lot of it is subconsciously we build up that it's gonna be a GREAT film. I went expecting just another film. I didn't even care it was a Burton film. I loved the story. A revisit to Wonderland? I mean the story was there. I enjoyed it

Re: Alice in Wonderland... Saw it, Loved it, Gotta see it again

How was Alice ? From Trailers and scenes on tv shows she seemed kinda dry.

Re: Alice in Wonderland... Saw it, Loved it, Gotta see it again

I enjoyed it. Not great, but typical of Burton's stuff for me. Entertaining. Loved the Cat:thumbsup

The freakin' new Tron Trailer in 3D was awesome, I want to go again just to see that:love

Re: Alice in Wonderland... Saw it, Loved it, Gotta see it again

I heard it go REALLY bad reviews...

Yep. If you enjoy the occasional really vicious review, go read Devin's on CHUD. Snarky as hell, eg the last line:

"The ending of the movie plays like Tim Burton making peace with the fact that he's no longer an artist, he's now a content provider for Hot Topic."

You can always rely on Devin for some fun snarking.

OTOH, Harry liked it. (For whatever the hell that's worth these days.)

Hey, she's British. ;) (Character, not actress.)

But really, I thought she was perfect. It's an introspective role, and there's a lot bubbling beneath the surface. For me, she handled the nuance very well. By the nature of the character, she's opposite the Hatter -- a moody, expressive character with blatant emotion whims.

Re: Alice in Wonderland... Saw it, Loved it, Gotta see it again

I liked it. I'm glad they showed it in Belgium, since at the last minute they decide to cancel the boycott.

Either way, it was a nice movie. Good enjoyment for 108 minutes. It was not the next oscar winner, but a nice movie. (And at moments I enjoyed the plant and world CGI more than I did in Avatar. ;) )

Too bad we did not get any trailers .. not even commercials. Would have loved to see the TR2N and TS3 trailer.

Re: Alice in Wonderland... Saw it, Loved it, Gotta see it again

I fell asleep.

Twice.

Horrid design, FX... and just so boring!

I had no expectations whatsoever...None..zippo..nadda..And I still thought it was mediocre at best..

The story was extremely predictable..Hell they tell you the whole story in the beginning..it wasnt exciting, and it fell flat imho...My date loved it though..

Visually, it was great but it had its moments when the cgi looked bad or shakey if that makes any sense...I guess crispin glover's character cgi was off in some scenes

I was bored in several scenes..I guess the only exciting scene was the tea party, and that wasnt much haha...I think the only entertaining thing was the March hare haha

Re: Alice in Wonderland... Saw it, Loved it, Gotta see it again

It was good, but far from blew me away. More a letdown than amazing.

Re: Alice in Wonderland... Saw it, Loved it, Gotta see it again

It was... ok. I liked the design, the direction, the camera work, the casting, the effects... But dear lord did the script suck. As it was opening weekend I got a Nielsen survey to fill in so Disney could get feedback on the film. I think my general apathy translated onto the tickbox form.

Also PO'd. No Tron Trailer, no Doctor Who 3D trailer (which was meant to be tagged on in the UK, apparently). Just that bloody 'How to train a dragon' trailer which I'm getting bored with seeing.
