Alec Guinness Obi Belt Buckle Question

Anyone know for sure what the base color of Alec Guinness' Jedi Belt Buckle was???

Some pics it looks like weathered Gold, some Silver, Some Black. Really hard to tell.

I always thought it was weathered silver

Consider that there were likely a lot of yellow and/or other 'hot' tone filters on the lighting for the ANH Tatooine scenes that might make something silvery appear more gold.

In people's various exhibit pictures, it always looks silver to me.

I thought it was just a Tandy Leather Factory - Rectangle Buckle Blank 1-1/2" to 1-3/4"

IIRC the original buckle was nickel plated brass that was heavily "weathered" with black paint, as though they painted it black and sanded around the edges and on the front to make it appear the paint had worn off from years of use.
